Job Description:

Hillside church is currently looking for a Student Ministries Pastor. This ministry includes Junior High, High School and College students.  These ministries currently include 65 – 75 students. 

 

This Pastor will be part of Hillside’s pastoral staff and will be responsible to teach, lead and shepherd student ministries.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF STUDENT MINISTRIES
HILLSIDE EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH

POSITION:Associate Pastor
REPORTS TO:Pastor of Family Ministries
ACCOUNTABLE TO:The Elders on behalf of the Co
ngregation
PURPOSE:To develop, oversee, and provide leadership for the Junior High, High School and College ministries of the church.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALING:
1.He shall be a college graduate with s
ome formal theological and student ministry training who is a life long learner.
2.He shall haveat least 3 years of paid staff experience in student ministry in a local church etting with a minimum of 25 students in his ministry.
3.He shall have demonstrated ability in developing and leading volunteer ministry teams.
4.He shall have demonstrated the ability to relate well to students and parents as well an understanding of the unique dynamics of student ministry.
5. He shall be licensed or ordained by the Evangelical Free Church, or be willing to pursue such credentialing.
SPIRITUAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1.He shall meet the qualifications of an Elder as established in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
2.He shall be a man of prayer, exhibiting a teachable spirit and a servant’s heart, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit in his life.
3.He shall know his spiritual gift(s) and faithfully exercise them in ministry.
4.He shall be in full accord with the Statement of Faith, become a member, and diligently work within the organizational structure of Hillside Church.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.To maintain a healthy relationship with God through personal worship, Bible study, evangelism, prayer, accountability and fellowship
2.To provide an example of full devotion to God in mind, heart and lifestyle
3.To provide vision and leadership to the Student Ministries (Junior High-College) of Hillside Church.
4.To provide advice and counsel to students and their families.
5.To fulfill general pastoral responsibilities as needed and/or assigned
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.To work with supervising Pastor to establish a vision for student ministries in coordination with the overall vision of Hillside Church.
2.To develop and implement an age appropriate, biblically based, and creative plan for growing the
students of the congregation into full followers
of Jesus, recognizing their diverse levels of spiritual maturity and interest.
3.To implement studies, relationships, programs, events and activities to support the vision and plan for student ministries.
4.To teach, train others to teach and oversee teaching in student ministries.
5.To develop, train, and oversee volunteer student ministry leaders, ensuring their spiritual growth as well as their alignment with the vision, purposes and
practices of the ministry
6.To serve as the High School Director while overseeing the volunteer and/or staff leaders in Junior High and College ministry.
7.To serve as the pastor/shepherd for students, their families and volunteer leaders in student ministries.
8.To fulfill necessary administrative roles to ensure good communication, delegation and accountability with the ministry.
