Position: Worship & Arts Pastor

Reports to: Executive Pastor 
Direct Reports: Technical Director, Video Director
Objective: To lead and bring the congregation into a worshipful experience of our Lord Jesus Christ through the arts.
Spiritual Gifts Needed: Serving; Leadership; Encouraging; Exhorting; Shepherding

Full Time: Salary $35,000 to $40,000 w/ Benefits

Position Overview:

The Director of Worship and Arts will be accountable and responsible for the musical and programming element of corporate worship at Frontline Community Church. In this role the Worship and Arts Pastor will be directly responsible for the video, sound, band and vocal teams in all Frontline worship services. As the central worship leader, the Worship and Arts Pastor, is a pivotal point person who brings the congregation of Frontline Community Church into the presence of the Lord through the use of music and the arts.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Strong depth of knowledge and experience in the areas of both traditional and contemporary church music
  • Technologically savvy and be able to incorporate the use of this technology to enhance worship
  • A track record of being able to recruit, develop and manage musicians, vocalists, technicians and volunteers
  • Be a self-starter with drive, passion and initiative
  • Excellent relational skills
  • Ability to communicate a vision and rally individuals to see a preferred future of ministry
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and ability to set and achieve goals
  • Minimum 3 years training and competence in music as part of corporate worship
  • A proficient level of theology or applicable theological degree from a Christian college or university preferred
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Music, Biblical Studies or related field a plus.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, demonstrate and achieve Frontline’s mission and philosophy of ministry as it relates to music and performance
  • Directly lead worship at Frontline Community Church 75% of the scheduled worship services.
  • Schedule worship leaders, musicians, vocalists and technicians for all worship services, whether leading or not
  • Recruit, audition and schedule musicians, vocalists and technicians
  • Plan the order of worship for each service in conjunction with the Senior Pastor
  • Manage and direct interns within the music and arts department
  • Evaluate worship leaders, worship assistants, musicians, technicians and vocalists ensuring that the churches resources are used effectively
  • Provide training and directions for future worship leaders, worship assistants, musicians, technicians and vocalists in the continued mastery of their gifts
  • Oversee the staffing of the Worship and Arts team, including placement and removal of worship leaders, worship assistants, musicians, technicians and vocalists
  • Schedule and lead structured rehearsals that are executed efficiently as well as effectively producing established measures of quality in music and sound mixing
  • In conjunction with the Senior Pastor & Executive Pastor consistently evaluate and report on the quality of the worship services and provide insight to ensure excellence of the worship experience
  • Assist in developing the departmental goals and program objectives in discussion with members of the worship team
  • Consistently evaluate the Worship & Arts equipment and technology needs and provide insight for future purchases
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental and staff meetings
  • Assist in developing a Social Media presence in relationship to the Worship & Arts department
  • Represent Frontline Community Church to the local community, including attendance at Frontline events that would require a ministry of music and arts
  • Consult with the Senior Pastor and Personnel team in areas of team development, staffing and volunteer management as well as policy formation
  • Oversee and provide insight in stage design, use of props, and overall visual enhancement of the worship center
  • Work in conjunction with the F.I.T. (First Impressions Team) to create an overall visual theme for message series
  • Coordinate with the Technical Director the update of new songs to library of music within the PC
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of the Worship and Arts budget
  • Develop a M.A.P. (Ministry Action Plan) quarterly to be evaluated by the Executive Pastor
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor
