Children’s Pastor - USA Southeast (GA) #232310

 

We are working with a large Southern Baptist Church in Georgia search for a Children’s Pastor who will effectively lead elementary-aged children and their families to be disciples who Come, Grow, Serve and Go through ongoing discipleship. The Children’s Pastor will serve as part of the Next Generation Team that wholeheartedly promotes the Church & Home strategy.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the Children’s Ministry in a balanced way and in all facets of implementation

  • Foster a “growth-bias” with staff and key leaders

  • Enlist and equip leaders; recruit and lead paid staff, fostering a “whatever it takes” attitude throughout the ministry

  • Develop curriculum, programming and communication in line with the church’s commitments, values and culture

  • Foster health in conjunction with all ministries in an effort to grow the ministry and the church’s influence in the community

  • Plan and lead discipleship opportunities with children; provide leadership to the children’s membership class

  • Prepare and administer budgets for the ministry

  • Provide leadership to major events, trips, camps, retreats, etc.

  • Maintain effective follow-up strategies with guests and baptism candidates

  • Develop healthy relationships outside of normal ministry schedules

  • Conduct yearly evaluations with staff

  • Perform pastoral duties as assigned

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Completed or near-completed Master of Divinity degree or equivalent

  • 3-5 years of full-time experience in Children’s Ministry

  • Some staff supervision experience preferred

  • A growing walk with Christ, maintaining habits of personal spiritual discipline

  • Strong organizational, administrative and management skills

  • Exceptional relational skills and effective time management

  • Growing in wisdom and discernment

  • An aptitude for teaching, coaching and training
