Family Church is a growing, multisite church in southwestern Oregon. Our Sutherlin campus averages 725 and our Green campus, located in the Green District in Roseburg, averages 300. Sutherlin is a town of about 7000 people and Roseburg has a population of 22,000. Our church is focused on reaching lost people and challenging them in their spiritual journey to take step along what we call, "the spiritual pathway." We have experienced spiritual and numerical growth for the past 10 years. Results from the REVEAL survey (developed by the WCA), has shown Family Church to be in the top 25% of churches who helping people grow spiritually.

We are looking for a pastor who is passionate about discipling children and families. Among other things, the person holding this position will oversee the children and family ministry at the Sutherlin campus and coach the children’s director and the Green campus. Experience and good people skills is a must.

Overall Responsibilities:

Provide pastoral ministry and oversight for Children’s Ministry using the “know, grow, show” philosophy, and be an advocate for families


Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and provide leadership for the spiritual formation of children throughout all areas of Children’s Ministry and all campuses
  • Teach and assist parents in the development of biblical family life-skills, so that families are growing spiritually
  • Train Children’s Ministry leaders as teachers, team-time leaders, games leaders, worship leaders
  • Teach & train children and leaders in balancing fellowship, discipleship, ministry, worship, and evangelism
  • Oversee curriculum; insure it’s growing spiritually healthy followers of Jesus
  • Facilitate Children’s Ministry on the weekend (discipleship), and teach as scheduled
  • Facilitate Wednesday night outreach programs (Evangelism)
  • Develop & oversee Children’s Ministry budgets
  • Connect and coordinate with the Youth Pastor for seamless transitions and continuity for students
  • Oversee child dedications and baptisms
  • Participate in weddings, funerals, and other services as needed
  • Participate in local community activities, as needed; i.e. sports, musical events, etc.
