In 1997, Chris and Anne Cannon were deployed from Hope Chapel, a large local congregation, to pastor a small church. The leadership they offered King’s Harbor Church made it catalytic beacon of hope—going into the community to serve and love others, building
bridges by working with the local city government, and getting involved with community leaders on local initiatives. Today, as the leadership transitions, King’s Harbor looks forward with prayerful anticipation and depend on God’s providence as they seek a
Lead Pastor who will provide the organization with visional direction, missional clarity, and a sustained sense of purpose as they move into the future, and continue to expand His Kingdom as a flagship in the city of Torrance, its region, and the globe.
The Lead Pastor will serve as the spiritual and directional point leader and primary communicator for King's Harbor Church. Partnering with the elders and staff of the church, the Lead Pastor will spearhead an effort to implement the mission of King's Harbor
within the context of the local congregation. This individual will be an empowering leader with a particular propensity to teach, equip, and grow the congregation, while offering strategic foresight towards the sustainable and effective management of logistics
pertaining to the ministry of King’s Harbor. This individual will also be a gifted preacher and teacher, able to deliver sermons that are theologically sound, challenging, relevant, and life giving.
A ‘seasoned’ leader who has demonstrated several years of professional/ministry successes in a senior-level leadership role, will best fulfill the Lead Pastor position at King’s Harbor Church. The ideal candidate will be a model of leadership for the greater
community, and will demonstrate the ability to strategically and collaboratively discern and implement the ministry priorities of the church. Success in this role will be measured by implementing agreed upon strategic initiatives related to the spiritual,
relational, and numerical development of the church in alignment with the mission of King’s Harbor Church.
An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is required for this position, although a graduate/seminary degree would be highly desirable. 10-15 years of proven experience in a senior-level leadership role at a mid to large-scale church, or have
worked in a senior staff position under a strong Lead Pastor will be imperative for the successful execution of this role.
The City of Torrance is located in the South Bay, one of the most culturally, economically, and ethically diverse regions in the United States. The eighth largest city in Los Angeles County, Torrance is an ideal location for Kings Harbor Church because it’s
in the center of the South Bay communities. It’s most famous for its native son Louis Zamperini the famed POW, Christian evangelist and Olympic distance runner. Its uniqueness can be credited as a town with an up-and-coming “Old Towne” redevelopment, charming

is higher than the national average, it is matched by a median family income of $82,000. The city additionally offers quality public/private schooling, state-of-the-art medical facilities, and an expanding industrial sector. Torrance competes globally through
its myriad of assets including the fifth largest shopping center in the USA, flourishing businesses, and safe neighborhoods. It is a mere15-30 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and with convenient access to LA’s major freeways, residents
