It is also a place for real people to explore the claims of Christianity, and an environment that teaches them how to apply God’s Word to everyday life.Leading through vision and execution, the next Student Pastor of New Vision Baptist Church will be responsible for coordinating a comprehensive strategy for planning, staffing, and serving all ministries that reach and develop students in 6th -12th grades. This position is part of a “Family Ministry” that focuses on the children and their families.


This individual will be one who has a proven track record of developing leaders and exceeding goals through vision-casting, and strong implementation. While inspiring teams and creating momentum for ministry growth, the Student Pastor will use a high level of relational intelligence to authentically connect with this generation of students. Furthermore, they will have an aptitude for creativity and communication, with core abilities such as Kingdom-orientation, authenticity, and approachability that translate beyond the Student Ministry, extending to the comprehensive benefit of the church. 

Success will largely be measured by:


  • Increased number of student baptisms.
  • Increased number of students involved in groups.
  • Demonstrated relational leadership and leadership development.
  • Implementation of an effective plan that seamlessly integrates the Student Ministry with the College Ministry.
  • A great collaborative work dynamic with fellow staff members.


A college degree from a 4-year accredited institution, at minimum, is required, although a seminary degree would be highly desirable for this position. A comprehensive set of experience and skills of the ideal candidate will include:


  • A clear understanding and desire to fulfill New Vision’s vision frame.
  • An authentic passion for leading students, parents, and ministry volunteers.
  • A value and desire to invest in families – this is a “family ministry” position that focuses on the students and their families. It is leading a student staff team and volunteers who desire to use their gifts for the sake of the kingdom.
