Community Baptist Church (CBC) is committed to changing lives, empowering families, and transforming its community by sharing the Gospel in word and deed. This is captured by CBC’s vision statement: “Living Water for a Thirsty Valley.” Further, in accordance with the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20) and obedience to the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:34-40), the mission of the church and ministries is simply stated as: “We exist to make disciples who make disciples.”

Sunday Celebration services are designed to be relevant, enjoyable, and meaningful. They are part of an overall environment and ministry model where guests and attendees are invited to connect, serve, and grow in small groups and ministry teams that offer authentic relationships within a larger community of faith. CBC’s priorities lie in its children and students, believing them to be some of the greatest influencers of the church today.

The Pastor of Worship & Media Arts will champion the vision and mission of Community Baptist Church, while leading, developing, and overseeing all aspects of worship and media. This role will have the primary responsibility of building and discipling teams, while bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary stylistic elements. As a family-focused, multi-generational ministry, the Pastor of Worship & Media Arts is an integral part of the staff and leadership commitment to honor the past as the church moves forward into the future.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced individual with a passion for investing in the lives of others, and enriching the overall worship experience through the creative use of music, media, and associated art forms. Ministry experience in a multi-ethnic ministry, or proficiency in conversational Spanish is a plus.

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a seminary/divinity degree, along with 2-5 years of leadership experience in worship, media, or creative arts. (Comparable vocational training and life experience will be considered in lieu of degree on a case-by-case basis.) He will have the ability to read and perform music, play the keyboard or guitar, audition and develop other musicians, and have experience working alongside production, technical, and media ministry staff members. Prior ministry experience should demonstrate the ability to effectively lead mid-size worship bands and teams, provide vision and direction, mobilize volunteers, and develop leaders. The candidate must possess a calling and character that others seek to follow, as this position will be dependent on their commitment to worship/media competency, and ministry leadership.
