River of Life Christian Church at Silicon Valley, was established under the leadership of Rev. Tong Liu in 1995, to fulfill the vision and mission from God to build a glorious church in the 21st century. The main thrust of the church is Worship & Praise, Renewal by the Holy Spirit, Cell Groups, and Global Impact. What began as a congregation of 70, has rapidly increased to one of over 3,000, the largest Chinese church in America, and become an invaluable network for over 140 churches in 20 nations impacting multimedia, education, marketplace, and community service spectrums across the globe.


The Youth Pastor of River of Life Christian Church will champion the vision, mission, and legacy of ROLCC, by maintaining programming and spiritual oversight of the Junior High and High School ministries, with approximately 350 students. This individual will develop a dynamic, innovative, and comprehensive plan to reach and equip youth, in an effort to create a vibrant Kingdom-impacting student body that grows within the church.


The Youth Pastor will possess a solidified understanding of the Chinese culture, conservative theology, and the role of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life. The ideal candidate will be charismatic, Spirit-filled, and fulfill the core requirement of speaking in tongues. They will be a strong manager and implementer, as well as a gifted speaker with the ability to make spiritual deposits into young lives.


The successful candidate for this position will be relational, with complementary skills in development. They will possess a pioneering spirit with a strong desire to nurture, expand, and maximize the potential of the Youth Ministry at ROLCC. The ideal prospect will possess an innate passion for youth ministry, a foundational understanding of ministry development, and the necessary social/relational intelligence within the student, parent, and congregational spheres of the church. They will complement the intellectual environment and esteemed culture of Silicon Valley, and embrace the community and its surrounding regions.


A bachelor’s degree in a related field of ministry is required for this position, although a Master of Arts or Master of Divinity degree would be preferable. Student and/or youth ministry experience will be a significant plus.


The region of Santa Clara, also referred to as "Silicon Valley," is unique because of its combination of physical attractiveness and economic diversity. With its numerous natural amenities and one of the highest standards of living in the country, the County has long been considered one of the best areas in the United States in which to live and work. It is a major employment center for the area, providing more than a quarter of all jobs in the Bay Area. It has one of the highest median family incomes in the country, and a wide diversity of cultures, backgrounds and talents. Santa Clara County's population of nearly 1.8 million is one of the largest in the state. The region contains a culture that is rich in its history, artistic endeavors, sports venues, academic institutions, and ethnic diversity, with over 100 languages and dialects being spoken in the vicinity. It is home to three major higher education institutions, Stanford University, Santa Clara University, and San Jose Sate University.
