Evergreen Church Kids Ministry:

Evergreen Church aspires to love kids just like Jesus does. Because 96% of our community does not attend church, that’s our first focus. The vision of Orangetown is to bring the love of the parents (that’s red) together with the gospel through the church (that’s yellow) to create “orange” (that’s life change) in the heart of a child.


We are searching for a leader or pastor who will infuence the swelling population of young families in Bothell, who don’t go to church, with an attractive, life-giving kids ministry. Kids will want to bring their parents. Parents will discover a community of more parents who work at home and serve at church to awaken their children to Jesus and his way.


We can see a kid-approved leader because Jesus is all over their personality. We can see a developer who adds so much value to leaders that he or she builds motivated teams. We can see a mature shepherd who sees all of church through a child’s eyes. We can see an energizer behind a worship band that gets boys and girls singing with all their hearts. We can see a communicator who inspires storytellers to make the Bible come alive to kids. We can see a creative who inspires activities to engage all the learning styles. We can see a discipler who takes seriously what kids can do for Jesus.



Recruit volunteers with heart and skill to serve kids. Build teams through devotions, modeling, equipping, and empowering them to lead. Program two Sunday events (this could expand to three services) that cause kids to drag their parents to church.


Create an inspiring environment each Sunday. Build a worship band designed for kids worship. Set up communicators for success with the best stories, crafts, games and such known to man. Focus on the win of application (not just information). How will kids be different because of what they’ve experienced? Invest in parents with whatever helps them do well at home. Motivate kids to be missionaries to spread the word to other families to come. Market Orangetown with events that bring unchurched people to church through their kids.



Evergreen Church, is a congregation of over 1,200 monthly attenders, 600 weekly attendance, located halfway between Microsoft and Boeing on Seattle's east side. Evergreen Church exists for Jesus to reach people who don’t attend our church yet. We serve a bedroom suburb of Seattle, called Bothell.


Our town brings together warm community, tech/health industries and a university campus. Bothell is booming. Our town center is going through a massive redevelopment bringing more people. Large developments of new homes are bringing more families. Local schools are overfowing. A new high school is being built soon.


Oh yes, we are home to one of the largest Hindu populations in America. Ninety-six percent of Seattle do not attend church. Therefore, those interested in a maintenance ministry need not apply.


One simple vision is our passion: Jesus changing lives through you. This means we develop each person to live a missional life for Christ by worshipping, serving and changing in a team. We lead people through three phases to achieve our vision. Worship to love God including daily devotions. Serving to love our neighbor in a LifeTeam. Changing to make disciples of Jesus through discipleship courses.


We are passionate about equipping people to become healthy leaders to infuence people. We are focused on Jesus. We believe the Bible is the word of God. We honor God’s word by making it interesting. We believe all the gifts of the Spirit operate today. We are charismatic but not weird. We believe Jesus and his church are the hope of the world. We are evangelistic, but not shallow.


We are elder governed, pastor led, and volunteer driven. We are an autonomous church, in relationship with churches like Willow Creek (Chicago), Gateway Church (Dallas) New Life (Colorado Springs), New Hope (Honolulu) and A2A (Australia). The Orangetown Director is accountable to the Pastor of Operations who oversees the day to day operations of Evergreen Church on the Management Team. The Management Team reports to the Eldership through the Lead Pastor.


Service Commitment: This is a full time position including 40 hours per week plus 6 hours of volunteer involvement that any typical volunteer would invest into our ministry. We begin with a three-month probation period to determine strength of call, character, competency and chemistry for leadership. 


Wages and Benefits: This is a full time salaried position commensurate on education and previous experience in a related ministry field. Medical/Dental/Vision and Life Insurance benefits are included for the staff member as well as the option to participate in a retirement plan.
