Rock Bridge Community Church (RBCC) is a growing, contemporary church serving Northwest Georgia with history and current loose ties to the Southern Baptist denomination. The Lead Pastor, Matt Evans, and his wife, Beth, who grew up nearby, planted the church in 2002. They saw the need for a new kind of church that would reach the lost, the broken, the de-churched, and the spiritually wounded people of the greater Dalton Area. In its short history, Rock Bridge has become renowned in the community and beyond for reaching families and individuals and equipping them with a biblical understanding and worldview through practical, relevant teaching. Since the Great Recession, Rock Bridge has postured itself to be more missional and incarnational in serving the community. Rock Bridge now has five campuses with four being located in northwest Georgia (Dalton, Calhoun, Chatsworth, & Ringgold) and the latest campus is in Hixson TN (a northern suburb of Chattanooga).

The Executive Pastor will steer the strategic direction of the church alongside the senior leadership team, by preserving the legacy and stewarding the future of RBCC. This position will exclusively focus on the implementation of vision and ministry priorities, as well as the organizational dynamics of robust coordination, clear direction, adequate follow through, and effective execution. Ultimately, the next Executive Pastor will help translate vision into action, while paving the way in preparation for the RBCC's next season of fruitfulness.

This individual will function as the human ‘nerve center’ and chief of staff, so the harmony and faithfulness towards RBCC's vision and values prevail. To fulfill this purpose, the ideal candidate will be one who effectively infuses their personal leadership gifts to successfully seek, achieve, and exceed all expectations required of the role. The prospect will further bear characteristics of a strong collaborator, coordinator, and an implementer. Possessing a highly entrepreneurial spirit, marked by a proactive result-driven work ethic, this individual will be impeccably meticulous with a drive for excellence in all areas in which they maintain oversight.

Along with a degree in business or ministry from an accredited institution, the ideal prospect for this position will have significant pastoral or life experience, with a history in leadership development, team building, delegation, and organizational administration in a large-church setting. This individual will be organized and assertive, display excellence in the area of ministry strategy and execution, be highly relational, and maintain a heart for people with different personalities, skill sets, and backgrounds. Alongside strong administrative giftedness, it is imperative the candidate has the ability to think biblically, creatively, and critically regarding how to help the local church and its staff as effectively as possible. This person must be a ‘ministry strategist,’ progress and results oriented, and capable of turning ideas into action.
