The Director of Worship & Creative Arts for
Vintage Faith Church is the vision holder of the worship and arts community of Vintage Faith Church. This role leads the church in their understanding and practice of worshiping and glorifying God through music and the arts.
Responsibilities include ensuring that creativity infuses the Sunday worship gatherings and that gatherings maintain a high level of aesthetic and musical quality on a consistent basis through leading, equipping and caring for
teams of artists, musicians, tech and media staff and volunteers. In addition to Sunday gatherings this role will oversee the development of a thriving worship/arts culture for Vintage Faith Church as a whole and be missionally engaged with the local Santa
Cruz music and arts community.
Philosophy of Music and Worship: We desire to develop a unique musical sound and Sunday liturgy where we tap into church history, frequently singing hymns and incorporating historical church practices (e.g. responsive readings,
benedictions and prayers). We desire to develop an eclectic musical sound which incorporates influences ranging from folk, Americana, gospel, to more contemporary unique musical expressions (think, The Modern Post, All Sons & Daughters, Jon Foreman, Citizens
& Saints, etc.). We are intentionally not moving into the highly-produced contemporary Christian pop-rock sound for missional reasons. To better reach our target demographic here in Santa Cruz county, we believe that a more eclectic sound that differentiates
itself from the more common pop-rock sound of the modern church in America will be more effective.
