Founded in 1999, Ecclesia serves the city of Houston and engages global issues of poverty, injustice, and water accessibility. Over the years the church has progressively moved from its space on Taft Street in the Montrose area to its permanent home on Elder Street near downtown. With an average attendance of 2,400-2,500, the core of the Ecclesia ministry is uniquely missional.

“Ecclesia” (ekklesía) is a greek word found in the scriptures meaning “church.” Ecclesia Houston is a Christian community who together are learning how to live as the church. Its hope and desire is to reflect, learn from, and serve the city they call home as the love of Jesus, the liberating King is shared throughout its community.

Ecclesia seeks a Campus Pastor to lead its Lindale Campus, in both spiritual and operational capacities. This individual will be responsible for vision casting, assimilating community, maintaining quality ministry programming, leading staff, increasing the volunteer base, and initiating small groups, as they bring about sustainable growth and progress to the Lindale Campus. They will duplicate and champion the DNA and culture of the central church, while seamlessly integrating the Senior Pastor’s vision both logistically and relationally, for the purpose of developing a deeply missional campus community.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field with the following scope of experiences to scale:

  • A history of experience in leadership and proven successes over the years.
  • Exposure to intergenerational ministry, and comfortably navigating through socio-economic and ethnic diversity.
  • Theologically conservative and culturally liberal.
  • Extremely personable and an attractive preaching style with a strong ability to teach.
  • Highly entrepreneurial work ethic with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to positively adapt to changing circumstances and growing pains that come with a new campus.
  • Demonstrated agility with a strong capability to manage multi-faceted ministry components.
