Geyer Springs First Baptist Church has been a beacon of hope in the region of Little Rock for over 70 years. The church attributes its highly influential ministry to its humble beginnings in the early 1940’s, when a small group of individuals gathered to start a church. Today, Geyer Springs serves over 6,000 members from West Little Rock, Southwest Little Rock, and Saline County, while ministering to over 2,000 attendees on Sunday mornings.


Geyer Springs FBC seeks a Children’s Minister who will be responsible for the development and implementation of Children’s Ministries that promote a Gospel-centered lifestyle of evangelism and discipleship in line with the GSFBC vision for children in Grades 1-5 by ministering to both children and their families.


The successful candidate will have had experience working as an effective leader of ministry teams, with the ability to develop and monitor a vibrant, creative, and attractive children’s ministry. Success in this role will be determined by:


  • The implementation of a gospel-centered discipleship model for children.
  • A GSFBC community that is energized and excited about the Children’s Ministry
  • Parents of the ministry are consistently being equipped to disciple their children
  • New leadership being raised and equipped, thus increasing the volunteer base.


A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required for this position, although a seminary degree with an emphasis in Children’s Ministry is highly preferred. This individual will additionally possess 5 years of experience, at minimum, as Associate or Children’s Minister in a church averaging 700+ in weekly attendance. In addition, the ideal candidate’s scope of experience will include:


  • Proven skills in the area of: administration, creativity, interpersonal relationships (staff and members), and leading leaders.
  • Demonstrated giftedness in teaching children, casting vision, and exhorting children and parents toward a Gospel-centered lifestyle.
  • Skills in identifying, attracting and recruiting new leaders.
  • A history of empowering people and leading teams of staff and volunteers
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to administer and organize budgets, events and ministry communications.
