Job Description:

The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas (just north of Houston) is seeking an IT Support Technician who has a passion for providing consistent, friendly IT Support to staff and volunteers for the purpose of advancing the message of Jesus Christ.  The Ark Church is twenty years old, with a charismatic background (our Senior Pastor came out of Lakewood Church) and is currently averaging over 7,000 in weekly attendance.  


We would consider you an ideal candidate if you meet the following:


  • Provides Technical Support to all staff, employees and volunteers during normal business hours and during services
  • Installs, maintains & updates all IT inventory including personal computers, devices, network equipment & peripherals such as multifunction printers, scanners and check­in equipment
  • Oversees and schedules volunteer IT Support for church service times
  • Works in conjunction with IT Systems Admin on IT­ related projects by providing consultation and recommendations on future planning

Customer Support

  • Provides consistent, friendly IT Support to volunteers, staff and attendees & members
  • Gives training to all employees on use of
  • Seeks to create great environments by constantly evaluating and improving IT systems including network infrastructure, hardware development and IT processes
  • Knowledgeable in the user aspect of all major device operating systems (Mac, iOS,Windows, Android)
  • Troubleshoots issues via our helpdesk systems and maintains updated status on tickets

Hardware/Software Maintenance

  • Performs scheduled maintenance and updates to computers, peripherals and network equipment as needed
  • Responsible for keeping all devices in an efficient and functional state
  • Maintains inventory of all hardware and consumables used
  • Refers to IT Systems Admin for purchasing, proposed improvements and changes as
  • needed

Volunteer Scheduling & Management

  • Accesses volunteer management system (Planning Center Online) to schedule and communicate with IT Support Volunteers
  • Trains and communicates with current and potential volunteers in the area of IT/Check­in Support
  • Assures proper volunteer scheduling to fill all IT/Check­in Support Volunteer positions
Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of modern computer operating systems (Mac OS, Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Server OS’s)
  • Knowledge in mobile platforms (iOS, Android)
  • Experience in computer software & hardware maintenance

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding and proficiency of network technologies and processes
  • Knowledge/Experience with Fellowship One Church Management software
  • Knowledge of Windows scripting, batch files and automation
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectivelywith technical and non­technical end users at all levels of our organization
  • Self­ starting & coachable attitude with a willingness to grow, learn and adapt to changing technologies
