Job Description:

Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch, Florida is seeking a full-time Children’s Minister who has a love for children and a passion for working with adult volunteer servants who love working with children and families. Must have a passion for creating faith formational experiences and systems that embrace and engage children in their current developmental phase, partnering with families to grow followers of Christ. The position is responsible for ministry oversight of children birth-5th grade and their families at both the Lakewood Ranch and Bayshore campuses, including the leadership of a Children’s Ministry staff team. Harvest is a diverse community of faith, called by Christ to offer hope by graciously welcoming others, passionately developing leaders, and generously serving people around the globe. With an average weekly worship attendance of over 750, Harvest is seeking a person with at least 5 years of experience in a large church setting. Person must have developed leadership and administrative skills; a commitment to creating a partnership between church and families; expertise in inviting, equipping and supporting volunteer servants; a passion for creating meaningful faith formational experiences for children and families; and a desire to serve as part of a team. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, located in a beautiful part of Florida with excellent schools both public and private. Required: a commitment to Christ, an undergraduate degree, preferably in a related field, 5 years of experience in a large church setting, a desire to serve within the United Methodist Church, and a desire to create safe, formational, and fun/engaging ministry experiences for children and families.
