Grace Fellowship ( is a spirit-filled, Charismatic, Christian church of 750+ worshipers near Athens, Georgia (home of the University of Georgia and about 60 miles northeast of metro Atlanta).  We are a growing, multi-cultural congregation of diverse ages with worshipers coming from a multi-county area. We are seeking a dynamic Worship and Arts Pastor with a servant’s heart.  We are looking for a person who is competent in music, leading people, creative and willing to continually seek the heart of God for our Worship and Arts ministry.  It is our desire that the person filling this position will effectively engage the congregation through praise and worship using the most appropriate methods available including the ever-expanding media/technological pathways.


The ideal candidate must be an organized self-starter and team player with a successful history of equipping leaders, recruiting, and developing teams.


The person filling this position reports directly to the Senior Pastor, and is expected to be a major contributor to the pastoral team in the furtherance of the mission, goals and direction of the church.


Job Description – The Worship and Arts Pastor will:

  • Provide leadership in all areas of worship and music
  • Plan, develop and lead weekly praise and worship experiences which ministers to a multi-generational and multi-racial community of faith
  • Develop, implement, cast and support a vision for the Worship and Arts Ministry that is aligned with the overall church vision and mission of “Going and making lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ”
  • Develop and coach leadership teams in the following areas: Vocal, Band, Technology and Special Church events
  • Research, develop, plan, implement, evaluate and continually improve a balanced variety of ministry-focused programs, activities, events that attract members, attenders and visitors seeking to learn more about the Christian faith
  • Work in collaboration with the Choir Director
  • Meet weekly with church staff, perform administrative functions related to the worship and arts ministry, including development and oversight of the Worship & Arts budget
  • Accept occasional pastoral duties assigned by the Senior Pastor


Required Personal Attributes

  • Born again and spirit filled believer who maintains a growing relationship with God through personal Bible study, prayer and ministry
  • A mature and growing Christian leader with excellent moral character and integrity (as set forth in 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9).
  • Senses a clear call to worship ministry and love for the Body of Christ
  • Has a genuine love for people and a passion to serve them according to the Word of God
  • Must pass all required background checks



Desired Competence

  • Strong vocal skills and ability to be vocal coach
  • Ability to read music, understand musical arrangements, theory and composition
  • Ability to play at least one instrument (e.g. keyboard, piano, or guitar) with a high degree of skill
  • A reasonable degree of knowledge, skill and experience in the use of technology, sound and lighting in the production of effective presentations
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills


Desired Education/Training and Experience

  • A four-year degree in Music/Religious education
  • A strong knowledge of God’s Word
  • At least five years proven experience in leading and inspiring  growing worship and arts programs
