Hours:   Full Time Salaried Position                                        Compensation: Commensurate with experience


Position Summary


The Children and Youth Ministries Coordinator recruits, schedules, educates, and sets our volunteers up for success to provide a safe, spiritually enriching and educational environment for the children and youth participating in these ministry programs in order to help them develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.


Essential Duties and Tasks


  • Recruits, completes background checks on, trains, and manages the schedule  of the      volunteers
  • Ensures there are sufficient volunteers in place to meet the particular needs of the scheduled programs; aligns backup/emergency volunteers in the event of unforeseen schedule      changes/circumstances; teaches when necessary to fill unmet volunteer vacancies
  • Fosters a positive environment that attracts, retains and motivates volunteers
  • Keeps the “Orange” curriculum for the children's ministry ordered and current along with ensuring all resources (curriculum activity) prepared for the volunteer teachers for the weekly Sunday      morning and Wednesday evening lessons
  • Plans, coordinates and participates in community outreach events throughout the year for both the children and youth ministries with the direction of the lead pastor
  • Coordinates and develops the Sunday evening youth program (i.e. devotions, activities)
  • Plans youth events throughout the year
  • Oversees children and youth ministry budgets
  • Maintains excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with church leadership, staff, volunteers and congregation
  • All other duties as assigned





  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ



  • College degree preferred but not essential
  • A desire to teach and mentor children (through 6th grade) and youth (grades 7-12) with patience and an accepting heart and creative passion




  • Prefer 2-3 years of experience but are willing to take chance on a passionate and creative leader
