The Creek Church was founded in 1861 as Hawk Creek Baptist Church. For 144 years the church existed as a small community church, serving those living in and near the Hawk Creek area of Laurel County, Kentucky. Upon experiencing much growth and progress over 10 years, the Creek Church maximized its reach across two multi-site campuses. Today, this expansion has contributed to a significant increase in growth, to over 1,500 attendees each week.

The church operates under the visionary leadership of Lead Pastor Trevor Barton, a gifted leader and communicator with a passion for reaching those marginalized and discouraged by religion. Under his leadership, The Creek has grown from a small community fellowship to an outwardly focused ministry that God is using to change lives. Influenced by Life Church, New Spring Church, and North Point, The Creek is poised for growth, as they fervently seek to develop a highly evangelistic community of believers who strive to invite others into the Kingdom of God.

The Creek Church seeks a talented individual to fulfill the role of Campus Pastor at the Somerset Campus. The sole purpose of this role is to champion the vision of the central campus, and to ensure its ministry programming content is executed with excellence. The ideal candidate for this position will be a detail-oriented self-starter, and possess an aptitude for building and leading teams, with previous experience in a variety of ministry leadership positions. By and large, the Campus Pastor will be responsible for the overall growth and development of the Somerset Campus.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached, working within a community, and promoting innovation through collaboration. This individual should reveal an ability to connect across all generations, ethnicities, and socio-economic lines.

This individual will possess the ability to effectively navigate through change and growth, while simultaneously increasing momentum and offering excellence in all areas of campus ministries. The ideal candidate for the position of Campus Pastor will show a ‘richness’ and a pattern of stability in all aspects of leadership, from pastoral duties such as communication, public speaking, and coaching, to management, which involves, worship planning, facility development, and human resources.

The main campus of The Creek Church is located in London, KY. Boasting some of the most scenic and challenging routes, London is known as the “Cycling Capital of Kentucky.” Its location and relatively low cost of living have helped makes the city a “Vacation Crossroads" and an excellent center for business, shopping, recreation, entertainment, education, and health-care. London also enjoys a sound base of industrial and retail business, with exemplary schools. Moderately priced housing, low utility costs, and the metropolitan areas of Lexington and Knoxville combine to make London a very special place for visitors, new residents, and business opportunities.

The Creek Church Campus will be located in Somerset, KY. Nestled across Lake Cumberland, one of the nation’s largest man-made lakes, the area attracts more than 1.5 million tourists each year. Generating approximately $150 million in revenue each year, the city’s commerce is largely driven by tourism, events such as the ‘Somernites Cruise Car Show,’ the largest monthly car show in the state, as well as restaurant and hotel chains that make up the state’s longest stretch of businesses outside of Louisville and Lexington. Somerset is home to the Valley Oak Technology Complex, a key industrial center in the state. Somerset has also increasingly been taking on the functions of a major medical center with its rapidly growing medical community, with many doctor's offices and Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital being one of the largest in the state.
