Student Ministries Director
Crestview Community Church, a growing non-denominational congregation of 300, located in Lafayette Indiana, is seeking a dynamic individual who can take our growing youth ministry known as EPIC, (Endless Possibilities in Christ) to the next level. In the past 18 months, Crestview has experienced significant growth in our youth programs growing from an average of 10 to about 40 middle and high school aged students. This group is currently engaged in both local and national missions work, as well as community outreach. And they are passionate about reaching the community for Jesus Christ. But Crestview is at a critical juncture where the youth ministry needs a full time Pastor as we plan for future growth in both numbers and ministry.
Experience and Education
Crestview prefers a BA or equivalent in a biblically based program of study with an emphasis on ministry. However, we will consider all education backgrounds and experience equally. The candidate must also have a minimum of 3 year’s prior experience in youth ministry. No entry level candidates will be considered. The candidate must also have at least a working knowledge and background of counseling, as this has become a primary need in our particular setting.
The Student Ministries Director candidate must also demonstrate prior experience working both as a team member, and the ability to work independently as a staff leader. A full background check will also be required.
The ideal candidate must have strong organizational and communication skills. The Youth Pastor must oversee curriculum development for both Sunday morning and Sunday evening studies. And be able to organize and supervise social activities and community outreach opportunities.
The SMD will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and to his church; be able to work with the Lead Pastor and current staff to implement Crestview’s vision of evangelism and discipleship for the local community.
The SMD must also demonstrate love for our teens, build a rapport with parents, be able to connect with the Crestview church body.
Provide leadership and function as the primary staff person relating to the youth ministry.
Prepare an annual budget and manage revenues.
Plan and implement age appropriate activities that promote community through fellowship. Activities may include concerts, movies, paintball and skiing.
Promote Christian service through our local mission projects including Lafayette Urban Ministries and Food Finders Food Bank.
Maintain a strong media presence through social media, church websites and other communication avenues
Be available to counsel both youth and parents as it relates to meaningful life issues
Be active in the Crestview Church family, and be available for other duties as assigned by Lead Pastor.
The following salary will be offered based upon our church size and location.
Base Salary: 30,000
