Job Title: Technical Director/Campus Worship Leader (Full Time) (Entry level position with opportunity to advance)

Reports To: Worship Pastor

 

Job Overview

 

This is a combo position consisting of approximately 26 hours Tech and 14 hours Campus Worship Leader.

 

Technical Director

The Technical Director will demonstrate a strong commitment to Jesus Christ while overseeing the maintenance and operation of Audio/Video/Lighting equipment on our campuses. The Technical Director’s ultimate goal is that services and events across all facilities and ministries are able to use technology effectively and strategically to enhance the experience of those attending. The Technical Director will report to the Worship Pastor, work closely with the entire Worship ministry, and provide Audio/Video/Lighting training and resources to other ministries.

Responsibilities

 

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

 

  • Manage all A/V/L equipment
  • Oversee the purchase, maintenance and operation of all Audio/Video/Lighting equipment on campus.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of operation and integration of all equipment
  • Train and equip both staff and volunteers to ensure successful operation of equipment in various rooms
  • Assess future technology needs and work with Worship Pastor to implement purchase strategies and timelines
  • Prepare stages for rehearsal and presentation weekly (and as necessary for events)
  • Set-up/tear-down/repositioning of equipment
  • Physical patching of lines to console(s)
  • Resets/aiming of lights
  • Patching and pre-programming of consoles
  • Manage necessary input lists, stage plots, etc.
  • Manage volunteer teams
  • Recruit, develop, equip, and schedule technical teams for events, mid-week and weekend services
    • Sound Team
    • Media Teams
    • Service Producers
  • Update transitions and detailed technical notes for all positions on Planning Center for all services and events
  • Meet regularly with teams to grow, train and cast vision
  • Oversee the administration of all weekend Tech scheduling
  • Serve as a Tech Production Manager for Sunday services
  • Float between campuses (when possible) ensuring Tech is synced and operational
  • Serve as liaison between Worship Ministry and other ministries needing Technical resources (Audio/Video/Lighting)
  • Concerts, Community events, etc.
  • Attend meetings as required by Worship Pastor
  • Weekly service evaluation and logistics meeting
  • Weekly staff meeting
  • Weekly Creative Meeting
  • Weekly Worship Staff meeting
  • Weekly 1:1 with Worship Pastor
  • Ancillary/Seasonal planning meetings as assigned

 

Skills and Talents

 

The successful candidate must be a Fully Devoted Christ-follower and fully support the ministry of Shelter Rock Church and its leadership team. This individual’s commitment to Christ will be evidenced in his/her personal life, family relationships, and ministry. His/her daily walk with God will be an example to others with which he/she interacts.

 

  • Expert knowledge of audio systems and large-format digital consoles
  • Knowledge of Yamaha LS9 a plus
  • Familiarity with personal monitoring (i.e. AVIOM and LIVE MIX) and digital audio networks (i.e. DANTE)
  • Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment
  • Expert knowledge of media in the context of worship services
  • Detailed knowledge of broadcast video environments
  • Broadcast switcher with multiple cameras (IMAG)
  • Keyed computer-graphics (lower thirds)
  • Presentation software (ProPresenter, Keynote, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of projectors, displays and video transmission
  • Knowledge of lighting in the context of worship services
  • Knowledge of theatrical, intelligent, LED and lighting for video
  • Familiarity with DMX programming
  • Ideal candidate is highly tech-savvy, able to learn and master new technology quickly and thoroughly
  • Expert knowledge of AVL signal flows and strong ability to troubleshoot in all of these environments
  • Must possess a teachable spirit and collaborate well in a team environment
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams of volunteers and leaders
  • Extremely strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to embrace and pursue artistic and spiritual excellence in services

  • Must have the ability to coordinate several activities at once and quickly analyze and resolve specific problems

 

Experience

 

  • Formal training in Audio and/or Technical Production of some kind preferred
  • Must have broad hands-on experience with technology in a modern worship production environment
  • Technical experience with multi-site and/or multi-room worship services

 

Campus Worship Leader

The Campus Worship leader is the key musical and spiritual leader of the worship team at one of our campuses. They lead, rehearse, recruit, and care for the worship team on a regular basis. As the environment and particular requirements of this campus are unique (i.e. louder and more production-intensive) this person should have a propensity, gifting, and experience in celebrative worship styles.

 

This person loves to worship and lead others into the presence of the Lord. To enter His gates with singing. They love collaborating with other worship staff in addition to other key team members.

 

Responsibilities

 

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

 

  • Lead worship weekly at a  high level from either piano or guitar.
  • Run an efficient and encouraging rehearsal.
  • Recruit new worship team members and hold auditions regularly
  • Meet and collaborate with worship pastor and staff on service planning and flow.
  • Participate in creative meeting
  • Participate in staff meeting
  • Help translate shared sets to the particular needs of the the campus
  • Equip and empower new leaders on a regular basis.

 

Skills and Talents

  • Working knowledge of recording and tracks usage.

  • Ability to work well on multiple teams.
  • Ability to respect the past and see the vision the Lord has for the the future of Shelter Rock Church.

 

Experience

 

  • Leading worship with an instrument and band in multiple church sizes: small, medium, and large.
  • Rehearsing bands and using tracks (Abelton live, Pro Tools, Logic, etc).
