The Worship Pastor is a full-time position overseeing all aspects of the worship life and ministry at Cary Alliance Church. He/She will be responsible for planning all worship services and special music activities and will create worship activities which
meet the ministry needs at CAC. The Worship Pastor will serve in other areas as needed as part of the staff under the direction of the Executive Pastor.
Lead CAC in God-centered, Spirit-filled, Christ-exalting worship that is characterized by joy and reverence. In coordination with the staff, faithfully develop a biblical philosophy of worship, media, and qualifications for participation in worship ministry.
In coordination with the pastoral staff, plan all Sunday worship services and special services, including Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Cantata, funerals, and other special events. This will include scheduling musicians, singers, technicians, and
any other participants in the worship services.
Oversee all music-related ministries, including the praise teams, special choirs, special music, children’s choir, music camp, and others. Manage all copyright-related issues with regard to these ministries.
Maintain and faithfully manage the music and worship budget.
Oversee stage set-up & lighting in coordination with the Trustees and pastoral staff.
Identify and foster musical giftedness, including instrumentalists and vocalists, especially in younger musicians.
Pursue continuing education and continual study in music, worship leading, pastoral care, and theology.
Requirements and Preferences
Agreement with Alliance Doctrine
Musical ability sufficient to lead worship teams and ministries BA or higher in worship arts
Proficiency in piano and/or guitar; ability to read music Expertise in piano
A strong, clear, and leading singing voice Vocal training
Biblical training and a good grasp of theology Seminary-level education
Good understanding of technical equipment needs Leader in worship technology
