Job Description:

Volunteer Specialist - Contracted (6 months / 40 hours per week, Sunday - Thursday)

Win statement:  

 - Create a culture of volunteers through demonstrated and applied discipleship

 - Strengthen the body at Crossroas Church by preparing and activating believeres for meaningful service that corresponds with their specific spiritual gifts

 

Mission Critical Responsibilities:

 - Proactively communicate, support and fulfill the vision, values, purposes, and goals of Crossroads Church

 - Provide oversight of the overarching volunteer recruitment process, including the development of coaches and teams

 - Develop definitive written material that can be utilized by teams, coaches, volunteers and staff (including a volunteer workbook for each ministry area)

 - Continually work with each staff member to ensure their fully-equipped processes are complete

 - Maintain open and frequent communication with Executive staff, Associate staff, Administrative staff, volunteer directors and volunteers

 

Role Specific Responsibilities:

 - Recruit:  Develop and implement volunteer recruitment best-practices that truly fit the culture and needs of Crossroads Church

 - Rally:  Serve as the focal point for all Crossroads Church volunteer efforts, rallying both church staff and volunteer team members to the high calling unnder which they serve

 - Ready:  Grow the church volunteer ranks (numerically, spiritually and mission-specific) so that trained, qualified, and prepared people are ready to quickly mobilize as needed

 - Release:  Match volunteers to ministry areas that best fit their calling and passion, releasing them to serve "as unto the Lord" (Eph. 6:7)

 - Recognize:  Develop a culture where ministry volunteers are recognized and appreciated for their service

 - Retain:  Implement an ongoing assessment process that facilitates the retention of qualified volunteers

 

Other responsibilities:

 - Honor God and Crossroads Church with a servant's heart lived our in job, ministry, and lifestyle

 - Diligently partner with staff and team members as needed in cross-ministry initiatives

 - Perform any additional tasks as requested by the Lead or Executive Pastor

 

Highest Payback Activities:

 - Meet with the Executive Pastor weekly

 - Constantly eveluate the effectiveness of mission-related systems and events

 - Plan and direct ongoing recruitment, training, and development initiatives that serve to suatain and increase the quantitative and qualitative service of volunteers
