Central Peninsula Church (CPC) was founded in the late 1960s, and today is a thriving multi-site church of over 3,000 people on the San Francisco Peninsula. Equipped with a strong heritage of expository preaching that is relevant to both believers and seekers, attendees are drawn to the church due to its emphasis on its mission and core values. CPC is a prime representation of diversity, young families, commitment, and growth. The church fosters a culture of grace and freedom as it lives out its mission to make and mature more followers for Christ.


The South Campus Pastor will serve as the primary leader at the South Campus of CPC, with 200 active members. As such, he will oversee and further develop the South Campus, under the leadership of the Lead Pastor and Board of Elders, so that the multi-site and overall vision of CPC “to make and mature more followers of Christ” may be fulfilled.


This position will successfully champion the DNA of CPC, by leading the South Campus in concert with the overall direction of the church. They will essentially be responsible for the growth, health, and alignment of the campus, by developing staff, engaging the campus community, connecting newcomers, and providing pastoral care.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, although a master’s degree is a relevant field is preferred. Success in this position will be measured by:


  • A campus staff that is developed, vision-oriented, improvement-focused, closely knit, and rebuilt in a greater capacity.
  • Consistent and sustainable growth with an attendance increase of 15% per year.
  • Exceedingly successful small group life.
  • A South Campus staff and congregational community ‘plugged into’ service.
  • Quality contributions towards the teaching team of CPC.


Central Peninsula Church is located in Foster City, which was founded in the 1960s on engineeredlandfill in the marshes of the San Francisco Bay, on the east edge of San Mateo. The 2010 United States Census reported that Foster City had a population of 30,567, and according to Money Magazine, the median income for a household in Foster City was $135,470. Known to be one of the safest cities in the nation, the region boasts quality education, a thriving industrial sector, and more parks per capita than any other city in California. Forbes ranked Foster City #10 on their 2009 list of America's Top 25 Towns to Live Well. Money has also recognized Foster City multiple times as one of the Best Places to Live.
