Job Title: Children’s Pastor
Classification: Full-Time / Exempt
Reports to: Executive Pastor
The role of the Children’s Pastor is to provide leadership, development, and direction for the Children’s Ministry staff and volunteer teams, as it pertains to the vision, mission, and strategy of Central Assembly of God. We are a church that reaches
out to our community with a focus on the minority.
Create environments, activities and programming for each age group that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth. This position requires oversight of children from birth up to fifth or sixth grade.To lead a team in provding age-appropriate
ministry and serve as a spiritual leader and role model.
1.Oversee Children’s Church (Kids Central) and Preschool (Kids Central Jr.) for Sunday morning service, Wednesday night boys & girls program, and Saturday night BLAST Bus Kids church.
a.Recruitment of volunteers to assist leading the ministry, including background checks and training.
b.Develop or select appropriate curriculum for Kids Central, Wednesday night boys & girls program, and BLAST, as well as assist and support volunteers in curriculum development for Kids Central Jr.
c.Directly run Kids Central and Wednesday night boys & girls program.
d.Recruit and manage bus/van drivers and bus captains for BLAST.
e.Establish visitation teams to engage parents of the BLAST program.
Oversee Nursery (Noah’s Park).
a.Manage paid Nursery Coordinator and assist in developing appropriate curriculum.
b.Recruitment of volunteers to assist leading the ministry, including background checks and training
c.Provide nursery for special events such as Deeper Services, MOPS Ministry, and Tuesday night Worship Team practices.
Develop strategy to engage parents of the BLAST program, encouraging them to attend adult services.
Creating and carrying out special events throughout year, such as Fall Fest, Christmas Play, VBS, and Kids Camp. Promote events to increase attendance from throughout the community.
Administer Junior Bible Quiz program.
Ensure supplies and resources are available for all programs.
Participate in the Pastoral staff process of praying and visioning, planning, calendaring, and budgeting for the purpose of equipping Central Assembly to carry out the Lord’s will in mission, worship, discipleship, and community
Nurture one’s own spiritual formation and professional development through personal time for study, preparation, and prayer.
A degree related to children’s ministry/education is desired, but ministry experience with children and other training will be considered in place of a degree in children’s ministry/education.
