Position Summary: It is the primary responsibility of the Student Ministry Director to provide leadership for students in grades seven through twelve. The goal of our student ministry is for every student to feel known, loved, challenged and cared for so much so that they invite their friends to experience the same.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership to implement the vision, mission and values throughout the ministry including, but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee and lead all areas of Student Ministries in the following areas:

    • Support and implement vision, mission and values of Venture Church to develop a regional student ministry with an emphasis on non-churched students

    • Programming that is current and innovative

    • Communicate effectively with Students in both teaching and relationships

    • Creates and supports small groups / life groups for students in five school districts

    • Equip and partner with parents to be actively and involved in the spiritual formation and discipleship of their students.

    • Recruit, train, coach, mentor and support volunteer staff

  • Assist, participate in budget development, implementation and accountability

  • Oversee, lead and perform the consistent updating of the Venture Hub as it relates to the areas of responsibility.

  • Perform special projects and duties as assigned.

  • Must be a forward-thinking individual with a desire to help the team win through increased effectiveness

  • Must have a collaborative and flexible leadership style with a strong service mentality

  • Must be relational and adept at building teams.

  • Adept at building strategic working as well as appropriate personal relationships with staff, volunteers, parents and students

  • Ability to seek out, build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders (schools, clubs, etc.)

  • Aware and engaged with youth culture, trends and value systems

  • Must develop expertise on using Venture Hub

  • Must be very proficient on using the Microsoft Office Suite
