The Greater DuBois Area has the relaxed lifestyle of a small town that appeals to visitors and residents alike. Conveniently located in West/Central Pennsylvania on Interstate 80, it is less than a day's drive from major cities in the Midwest, East Coast, and Canada. It is about an hour’s drive from State College, PA, and a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh, PA. That makes DuBois a convenient stop for travelers, and a perfect home base. Offering a relaxed lifestyle for its residents, the city also offers good health care, education, and youth athletic options. Additionally, the large expanse of forests and waterways make DuBois and great base for outdoor recreation. The successes of DuBois are due to the vision and hard work of its residents. They follow the example of the town's namesake, John DuBois—entrepreneur, inventor, and visionary—whose legacy continues to thrive in the community today.
