Covenant Life Church (CLC) is a multi-generational church passionate about worshipping God. Upon experiencing growth and progress regarding leadership, programming, and facilities over the years, the church further condensed its mission to treasure God and love people. Over time, Covenant Life Church has not only maintained, but also successfully increased its potential to expand its reach throughout the Henrietta and the Greater Rochester region. It has created a solid platform for its ministry by providing the leverage necessary for the sustainability of its continued growth and impact in local, regional, and global capacities. 


Covenant Life Church is a church with weekly attendance from the low to mid-100s, which includes many young families. We are an elder-governed church with a reformed doctrine and an openness to and appreciation for charismatic expression. The church believes in the gifts and positions mentioned in Ephesians 4, including the prophetic gifts. Beyond Sunday morning, life groups are an important part of church life. It is a church that prioritizes teaching the Bible and living according to the provisions of God’s word.


The next Lead Pastor will maintain the rich heritage of the church while effectively leading and stewarding the future of Covenant Life Church. The scope of responsibility of the Lead Pastor at Covenant Life Church will require him first and foremost to be a visionary leader who will champion the vision, mission, and core values of the church. Secondly, he will have a strong gifting in biblically and culturally relevant preaching. He will also require an aptitude for administrative oversight and management.


The ideal candidate for this position will be a momentum-maker, a unifier, and a gatherer with a high level of relational intelligence. In a nutshell, he will be a dynamic leader with a capability to offer strategic foresight, strengthen operational logistics, and develop programming components, thereby helping Covenant Life Church fulfill its mission.


An undergraduate degree is required for this position, although a seminary degree would be preferable. Essential competencies will include, but are not limited to:


  • Protecting and developing integrity within the body of Christ
  • Consistently displaying personal management, strong work ethic, leadership, biblical conflict resolution and professionalism by having a personal model for Gospel-driven productivity
  • Promoting care and nurture within the congregation using highly developed people skills
  • Being an authentic communicator; has strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understands and embraces technology (ie. social media, Microsoft Office suite, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Strategic planning and organizing with measured results
  • Proactive time management and attention to detail
  • Attends to his and his family’s spiritual health and development
Fondly known as the “Township of Friendship,” Henrietta has remained a city of expansion while maintaining its small town flavor. Not only is Henrietta the geographical center of the Monroe County, but it has also become an apex for business and commerce, culture, and history. Henrietta is a suburb of the Greater Rochester area, a world of art, music, theater, photography, history, and play. Rochester has over 100 family-oriented attractions such as the Strong Museum of Play, Seabreeze Amusement Park, The Seneca Park Zoo, and more. It is also known as “The Festival City.” ;the Jazz Festival draws jazz artists both nationally and internationally. The Lilac Festival, Park Avenue Festival, and the Corn Hill Festival attract nearly two million visitors a year. Rochester, NY is also part of the Finger Lakes Region. There are a number of state parks and lakes to enjoy hiking, biking, boating, fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding and more. Letchworth State Park, known as the “Grand Canyon of the East” and an hour’s drive away, welcomes 650,000 visitors a year. It recently won the 2015 USA TODAY Readers’ Choice Award for Best State Park. Rochester has a tight knit population with a strong sense community pride, even though it is the third largest city in New York State. Some of the most welcoming people in the world live in Rochester, which is why it is a great place to call home.
