TITLE:                          Director of Youth Ministries  (Part Time – Flexible hours)


PURPOSE:                   In partnership with leaders from the congregation and the Youth Ministry Team, develop and implement a comprehensive program for youth ministry (6th -12th grade) that helps youth develop in our mission: ‘to make and grow disciples who give their lives to make a difference in the world.’


ACCOUNTABILITY:       The Director of Youth Ministries is supervised by the Pastor as Head of Staff with oversight from the Personnel Committee in coordination with the Session.  The Director of Youth Ministries shall coordinate ministries with the church staff and the Youth Ministry Team.





  1. Conduct yourself in a Christ-like manner as you teach with your own life.
  2. Meet with the Youth Ministry Team regularly
  3. Be a presence on Sunday Mornings with our youth
  4. Other duties as required


       Youth Ministry

  1. Pray for our youth
  2. Plan, implement and attend weekly activities for the youth during the year.  Prepare and provide fun activities, fellowship and biblical teaching to encourage our youth to grow in their faith.
  3. Plan, organize, and attend youth camps and conferences that grow our youth in their discipleship of Jesus
  4. Attend as many of the students’ extra-curricular activities as possible in order to build and maintain strong relationships.
  5. Recruit, train and shepherd adult volunteers
  6. Encourage and lead the youth to participate in the mission work and other activities of the church
  7. Maintain contact with students and parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement



  1. Create and oversee the youth budget
  2. Create and oversee the youth calendar
  3. Work alongside other church staff members as a team player, attending staff meetings, and sharing in the vision and ministry of the church
  4. Ensure that the Child Protection Policy is observed in all youth ministry settings.




  1. A mature and growing disciple of Jesus Christ
  2. A deep love of youth and families and a passion for youth ministry
  3. Commitment to (or willingness to develop an understanding of) family based youth ministry and an ability to develop relationships with adults of all ages
  4. Strong organizational, relational, and communications skills
  5. The capacity of creating and executing a long-term vision for our youth ministry
  6. The candidate will preferably be Presbyterian.
  7. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  8. Experience in youth ministry
  9. Pass a background check through the DPS and fingerprinting process (required)
  1. Able to engage physically in a full range of youth activities (including but not limited to jumping, running, swimming, hiking, etc.)
