Crossview is trusting God to provide a Senior Pastor who is a man of true Christian experience and character, called by God to shepherd His people. The qualifications for this position are the standards outlined in 1 Timothy 3:2-7, 1 Peter 5:1-3 and Titus
1:5-9. The Senior Pastor will shepherd the flock of God by modeling a godly life and attending to the spiritual health and growth of those under his care. He, too, will continue to grow spiritually, emotionally, academically, and professionally.

Crossview recently underwent a 6-month self-study process in preparation for this pastor search. The findings are outlined in the
"About the Church" section to the right of this posting. Please prayerfully consider the following qualifications in light of the self-study findings.
Crossview is trusting God to provide a Senior Pastor who has experience collaboratively developing our vision of God-centered, outward-focused ministry and strategically guiding the congregation in its implementation.
Crossview is trusting God to provide a Senior Pastor who has experience implementing discipleship ministries and is committed to implementing such a ministry at Crossview. While discipleship takes place on an individually sought-after basis within Crossview,
a formal discipleship ministry is lacking. Implementing a formal discipleship ministry is a high priority. Furthermore, the Senior Pastor himself is expected to be an example to the congregation in making disciples.
Crossview is trusting God to provide a Senior Pastor who is gifted at connecting authentically and relationally with multiple people groups, including those of different age categories as well as those from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. With this
in mind, experience specifically minstering to those in their 20's and 30's will be given strong preference. Additionally, Crossview seeks a Senior Pastor who is willing to learn about this church, its history, and what makes this congregation unique, with
the purpose of finding ways to build on Crossview's unique characteristics and strengths.
Crossview is trusting God to provide a Senior Pastor who has the ability to develop, train, and equip leaders, as well as empower existing leaders (i.e., staff, elders, and lay leadership), working from a clearly defined vision. Crossview places high value
on the ability to work collaboratively, while also being able to carry out the agreement that is reached. The Senior Pastor will actively identify, train, and equip future leaders. He will also help develop and maintain church-wide strategies for assimilating
new attendees, equipping the flock for fruitful ministry.
Crossview is trusting God to provide a preacher who combines depth of teaching with an engaging delivery and gospel focus. It is important to be able to deliver sermons that resonate with those in various stages of their spiritual walk (i.e., from those
who have been followers of Christ for decades to unbelievers, and the many stages in between). Additionally, value is placed on the ability to speak to those of younger generations (i.e., those in their 20's and 30's), specifically with regard to culture and
A bachelor's or master's degree in ministry, theology, or equivalent, from an accredited university/seminary, is required. A master's degree in divinity, theology, or equivalent, from an accredited university/seminary is preferred. The Senior Pastor must
ascibe to theology and doctrine that is compatible with those of the EFCA.
The Senior Pastor will be the primary preaching pastor of the church. He will regularly meet with ministry staff to foster an ongoing atmosphere of spiritual care, mutual encouragement, and empowerment of their ministries, helping assess ministry effectiveness
and growth. The Senior Pastor will set personal development and ministry goals to be reviewed and evaluated by the Elder Team annually. He, along with the elders, will also conduct annual performance reviews of all church staff to ensure accountability to
The Senior Pastor will hold the responsibility of overseeing the administration of the ordinances of the Lord's Supper and baptism. The Senior Pastor will also be responsibile for caring for the congregation through counseling, visitation, weddings, funerals,
and dedication. These responsibilities may be shared or delegated to others as appropriate. Finally, the Senior Pastor will consistently be an example to the flock in making disciples.
The Senior Pastor will be a full time paid employee of Crossview who serves as the team leader of the church staff. He will be subject to Crossview's by-laws and constitution as a member of the church. Additionally, the Senior Pastor will endorse and embrace
Crossview's doctrinal statement (which is the same as the EFCA's statement).
The Senior Pastor will be responsible and acountable to the Elder Team and the church membership. He will serve as Head of Staff, as a voting member of the Elder Team and as a non-voting, ex-officio member of all ministry teams or committees.
The projected salary range for the Senior Pastor is $70,000-$85,000, depending on qualificaitons and experience. Benefits include personal and family health insurance coverage, disability insurance, paid vacation and sasbbatical per the employee handbook.
