City Church is seeking a Student Ministries Pastor (20 hours per week). City Church began meeting in southwest Minneapolis, MN on Easter Sunday 2005. The purpose of City Church is to Love God and Love Others. We are a multi-generational congregation with
a core of families with young children and middle and high school students. Each week around 350-400 (adults, children and youth) gather to worship. In the spring of 2013, the church moved into a renovated facility on West 54th Street at Humboldt Avenue. Since
then, the church has experienced signification growth (almost 50%). The staff includes Worship Arts and Community Life (full time) as well as Children’s, Outreach, Administration and Communications (part time).
Student Ministries at City Church includes more than 50 middle school and high school students, with at least 30 present each Sunday morning and evening. In addition, there are monthly outreach events, small groups, and, every two years, a catechism class
for eighth and ninth graders, providing students with an overview of Christian faith. In addition, we have a staff of ministry volunteers who support the work of the Student Ministries Pastor.
The future for Student Ministries at City Church is exciting. We have a core of committed students who love meeting and who regularly invite their friends to activities. Southwest Minneapolis has two major high schools with over 3,200 in attendance. We believe
there is a significant opportunity to fill a gap by ministering not only to the existing and emerging middle and high school age students but also to the hundreds of students not currently connected to a vital student ministry program.
City Church is looking for an individual who is passionate about introducing students into a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. This leader must be able to communicate well with students, provide strategic and administrative leadership for the ministry,
as well as recruiting and training volunteers. They should be a person of vital faith with a commitment to historic orthodox Christian faith. Finally, they should be able to collaborate with the staff and volunteers of the church and have a commitment to the
purposes of City Church in this community.
A job description is available upon request. The targeted hire date is on or about September 1, 2016. Email resumes and inquiries to John Sommerville at email@example.com. Please visit www.citychurchmpls.org for more information or contact the church
