Student Pastor Job Description
Christ Church mission is “ to reach millions of unchurched persons by developing thousands of fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.” We are looking to attract two types of people: the unchurched, and those that care about reaching the unchurched.
Position Description: This position is designed to provide hands on leadership of the Student Ministries ( 6th - 12th Grade) for the Mt. View Campus ( Main Campus). This position will have a seat at the leadership / decision-making
table to develop and plan ministries that will impact the multi-site student ministry for all five locations of Christ Church.
? Implement the student ministry vision at the Mt. View ( Main Campus) to grow a thriving student ministry for students 6th to 12th grade.
? Provide hands on leadership to the weekly ministry programs at Mt. View Campus.
? Recruit, develop and disciple small group leaders to lead and disciple students.
? Develop and mobilize volunteer teams to serve in student ministry in varying capacities.
? Strengthen the all campus student ministry structure by using your gifts and talents to impact the team.
? Be active in student’s lives inside and outside the walls of the church on a weekly basis.
? Encourage students to be involved in serving / missions by providing opportunities to serve in the community or mission trips.
? Produce regular outreach - oriented events for students that will align with the overall mission of Christ Church; to reach the unchurched and develop devoted followers of Christ.
? Be willing to do whatever it takes without breaking the law; in alignment with the mission of the church to reach students for Christ.
Characteristics of Leaders:
? Fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ
? Self – Starter
? Outgoing personality that will attract people to Jesus and His ministry
? High capacity proven leader of leaders
? Team player and team builder
? Minimum of 3 years experience in student ministry required.
? Experience MUST involve student ministries of larger than 100 students.
? Multi-site student ministry experience is preferred.
? M. Div preferred but college degree required
? Theologically align with the Wesleyan belief
