We are a large growing church who is inviting to those who are turning to God. Chestnut Ridge Church is seeking a full-time Kids Ministry Director. You will join a dynamic staff team in a grace-filled environment leading our kids ministry staff team to reach kids and families for Christ.

These are exciting times for our Kids Ministry as we are completing phase 1 of our Kids ministry renovations.  We are using Iron Spirits and a great team of our volunteers to create interactive and eye catching 3D elements for our Nursery and Pre-school areas.  Our next step will be to move upstairs to our Elementary age hallways.  Along with this in October we will be hosting the Orange Tour at our church and are excited about partnering with Orange.  If you have a passion for Orange Thinking then Chestnut Ridge Church might be a great fit for you.


Because of our great kids ministry staff, Kids area projects, and many volunteers the Kids Ministry Director will need to have strong relational, leadership, team building, systems development, discernment and organizational skills.  This position is responsible for providing leadership, vision, direction, support, and development for the Kids Ministry staff and their volunteer leaders. You will play a key role in helping to lead people into a growing relationship with God and others.

Summary:  Lead the team that is responsible for implementing the CRC strategy for children ranging from birth through 4th grade.   This includes leadership development, volunteer recruitment, coaching and training.

One-line Job Description:  To lead, equip and encourage the children’s ministry team of staff, volunteers and parents in leading their kids in a growing relationship with God and others in keeping with a “Think Orange” Strategy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Provide leadership to children’s ministry environments Birth – 4th grade which includes:

  • Leads Kids Ministry Staff which currently includes 5 part time staff
  • Leading weekly planning meetings
  • Provide point leadership for staff and volunteers in our Kids Ministry with regards to partnering with parents  [“thinking Orange”]
  • ACTS [attracting, connecting, training & sustaining] volunteers
  • Overseeing Kids Ministry events: Baby Dedication, Show & Tell Baptism Celebrations, We Believe (Gospel Presentations), etc.
  • Interface for parental issues and concerns
  • Maintain website and communication vehicles for Kids Ministry
  • Serve in advisory capacity with programming and under leadership of Family Life Pastor, Parent Ministry and other applicable environments.

Serve on the overall CRC staff team which includes:

  • Participating in weekly planning/strategy meetings
  • Providing assistance on all-church initiatives [baptism and membership interviews]
  • Collaborate with Student Ministries to ensure effective transition of children between departments
  • Act as an ambassador for CRC by positively reflecting the vision, mission, strategy and values to those inside and outside our walls.
  • Be able to assess and advise attendees and volunteers as to how and where they can take their next steps towards God and within the ministry.


At Least 3 + years Full-time on a church kids ministry staff.
