Executive Pastor - North Texas (#12140)

 

We are partnering with a growing, contemporary church of 1,000+ in North Texas, in search for their next Executive Pastor. Located in a large town with a small-town Texas flavor, this church is helping people find and follow Jesus through engaged teaching, dynamic worship, and vibrant fellowship.

 

Description

Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the Executive Pastor is responsible for the overall execution of the church’s vision, mission, strategy and culture.  This involves assisting the Senior Pastor with the overall leadership, development, and effectiveness of the organization and staff.  Primary areas of responsibility are strategic planning, financial management, business administration, human resources, operations management, and organizational development.  Pastoral skills and effectiveness are necessary.

 

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Five or more years experience in an administrative or executive pastor role.

  • Experience with oversight and accountability and leadership development for ten or more members of a church staff.

  • Bachelor degree minimum from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience conducting capital campaigns

  • Experience coordinating and managing a church budget.

  • A deep desire to champion the local church.

  • A strong vision for a church on mission in the community.

 

Preference will be given to candidates who meet the requirements and further possess the following accreditations and experience:

  • Mdiv. with concentrations in leadership development, discipleship, biblical studies, organizational leadership, or similar concentration.

  • Experience with church planting / church revitalization with a multi-site church.

  • Experience in a contemporary, non-denominational church.

 

 

 

Position Responsibilities

 

Personnel

  • Partner with the Senior Pastor in recruiting, coaching, and developing a high capacity staff that reproduces volunteers and leaders at every level of the organization.  Multi-site ministry is under consideration, requiring this role to lead that model.  

  • Regularly evaluate and improve the current strategy, communication and effectiveness of the organization, each ministry area, and each staff member.

  • Serve as the Human Resources Director for the church and all employees.

 

Operational

  • Function as the primary systems expert for all aspects of the organization.

  • Oversee the big picture financial operations of the church and develop systems for financial accountability and resource maximization.

  • Work with the Finance Team and appropriate staff in developing the annual operating budget.  Provide monthly communication of trends and variances.

 

Organizational

  • Research legal, tax and employee matters to make recommendations as needed.

  • Work with the church’s legal counsel should any legal action be brought against the church.

  • Evaluate the insurance needs of the church and secure the best available options.

 

Execute other related duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
