Reign Church (About Us)
At Reign, we know that doing ministry together means doing life together, so it’s important you know about who we are just as much as we know who you are! Our staff wholeheartedly believes in the Gospel of God’s Grace, and that this Grace is not a doctrine, but a person; Jesus Christ. We believe that God wants people to reign in this life through Jesus, by receiving the abundance of His grace and the gift of His righteousness (Romans 5:17). The lives of our staff have been radically transformed by the finished work of Jesus, and we want to see every generation experience the same life transformation given by Jesus and His work.
Jesus has center place at Reign; from our sermons to our worship music, Facebook posts, and more. We believe “right believing” (about Jesus) leads to right living. We believe that God’s Spirit is active and moving today as He did in the early church, and that all His gifts are still active and alive (for instance, we love to pray for the sick believing God will heal them). Our teaching and theological flavor will sound familiar to those who have listened to or read Joseph Prince, Judah Smith, Saint Augustine and Creflo Dollar. We also have a strong relationship with Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas (Kari Jobe).
Reign has yet to publically launch, but our weekly celebrations (services) are already at 60 people. Our launch area is near the Southland’s Mall in Southeast Aurora, Colorado. We are currently meeting at Thunder Ridge Middle School.
We have a younger pastoral staff, but have seen God giving us a multi-generational church. As for our personal time together; we really enjoy each other’s company, and do things regularly outside of ‘ministry’ events. We watch movies together, go out to eat together, watch the Broncos win the Super Bowl together and more.
Reign Church Vision
To behold Jesus, enjoying His love and grace, resting in the victory and freedom of His finished work on the cross; and to make Him famous by unveiling His Gospel.
Our vision is to enjoy Jesus, preaching His grace through joyful, Christ-centered songs.
We long to see lives changed by His goodness, as we participate through joy-filled, spirit-filled, Jesus-centered, dance-pop-rock music. Our culture shall be multi-ethnic and generational, but our experience and music shall reflect the youthful joy of Heaven itself. Where hands are lifted high, voices are signing loud, feet are dancing, and Jesus is elevated!
Our worship team shall grow in ability and number, one day writing our own songs and producing our own albums. At Reign, we aim to one day have the most epic worship experience in Aurora, Colorado!
We believe our worship team’s primary goal and purpose is first and foremost to enjoy the love and grace of Jesus Christ for ourselves, and out of this overflow, through corporate worship, we preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Grace and celebrate all that He has done – engaging the congregation to follow as we lead.
Worship Theology & Philosophy
Psalm 100:2 encourages us to “worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” We happily take that invitation and thus our song choices at Reign are noticeably joyful and full of gladness. But where does all this joy come from? Psalm 100:5 tells us the answer; “For the Lord is good and His love endures forever.” God’s grace (His goodness) fills us with joy, and out of the overflow of this love and joy we praise and worship Him. We believe worship is a time to exalt Jesus and enjoy the Lord, His presence, and celebrate all His goodness and give Him thanks. At Reign Church, we don’t believe worship is about us – but about Him, so we’re careful to select songs that are not introspective, but rather Jesus-centric.
Worship Style At Reign
Our musical style at Reign matches the youthfulness we find in the life of Christ, and would probably be best described as joy-filled “electro-pop dance rock,’ with some ‘gospel-flavor.’ Reign Church envisions a church ‘on earth as it is in heaven,’ which is a church of every tribe (multi-cultural, multi-ethnic) and every generation (multi-generational). Our worship ministry echoes that vision – while operating within parameters of the resources and people that God has provided us. We’ll throw down some Planetshakers dance-pop rock (maybe even Hillsong Young & Free), and roll right into some Gospel funk from Israel Houghton.
We currently use tracks for the more dance/synth driven music, and have an in-ear system to support the use of Multi-tracks.
Sound System & Band
Reign recently purchased more than $11,000.00 of sound equipment, including in new EAW speakers and 18” subs. We mic the drum kit completely, have an in-ear system, and have all the components needed to run a solid worship set.
We have a bass player, drummer, keys player and female vocalist.
