CrossLife Church is a growing, dynamic group of people of all ages who are interested in connecting through uplifting worship, practical bible study, and active involvement in service. At CrossLife, families and singles alike will find life-changing messages, small groups for all ages, and a unique sense of belonging.

First established in 1869, the church began its process of growth in the 1990s. Pastor Mercer’s arrival during this period propelled the church into new heights, reaching 500 in regular attendance. Today, attendance has increased to 2,200 under Pastor Mercer’s leadership. With longstanding roots in biblical preaching, CrossLife continues to impact its believers and surrounding community through its central campus and satellite venues with the life-giving message of the Gospel each week.

CrossLife Church seeks a Worship Pastor to lead all weekend worship services and maintain oversight of individuals and elements involving the worship experience. The ideal candidate will value both contemporary and traditional stylistic elements, and carefully discern and complement the worship culture of each service at CrossLife. This individual will possess a multi-faceted leadership style with an aptitude for recruiting, training, inspiring, and mobilizing both individuals and teams. They will essentially have an entrepreneurial work ethic, a pastoral heart, a strong familiarity with contemporary worship music, and an appreciation for intergenerational worship.

The next Worship Pastor will be joining a passionate and hard-working staff culture that strives for excellence in all things. The ideal candidate for the position will seamlessly complement these qualities, and personify them in meeting all goals, objectives, and expectations of the position. To successfully execute the details pertaining to the position, the prospective candidate will preferably have a bachelor’s degree in music education or music ministry. The scope of experience and skills will include:

  • Effectively leading a band-led worship service that appeals to a younger generation
  • A solid understanding of contemporary Christian music (i.e. Hillsong, Passion, etc.)
  • Effectively lead music, worship, a choir, and orchestra ministries in a service designed to reach the baby-boomer generation
  • Ability to read music, adapt music, and conduct musicians
  • Strong, demonstrated experience leading from either guitar or piano.
  • Comfortable praying in public and a confident stage presence
  • Execute all responsibilities assigned with excellence
  • An independent and result-oriented work ethic
  • Relate across intergenerational spectrums of the church through the worship experience
  • Training and background in contemporary, traditional, and blended worship is highly desirable

Note: The more contemporary (band-led) service which meets at 10:50 a.m. on Sundays is the larger of the two worship services. This service appears to be the future of the church. The church now employs an individual who leads the orchestra on a part-time basis. Part-time help may also be available to work with the choir.
