Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic person who can work with our lead children's pastor to build teams of volunteers to reach our community. The assistant children's pastor would help to lead our three weekend children's services, wednesday night children's small groups, basketball league, and summer outreaches at our largest campus as well as help facilitate the programming and curriculum at our other campuses.

The Assistant Children’s Pastor is responsible to work with the Lead Children’s Pastor to oversee the entire children’s ministry at Allison Park Church by recruiting, training and managing a team of volunteers to effectively provide a high quality and fun children’s ministry experience where kids encounter the presence of God, learn about God through biblical teaching, and are challenged to live a powerful faith-filled life of following Jesus.


The Assistant Children’s Pastor is a full-time salary position. This role will require 40-50 hours per week.



  1. Submit to the vision and direction of the Lead Pastor through the direction of the Lead Children’s Pastor.

  2. Recruit, train, and manage a team of coordinators, leaders and volunteers to effectively provide a high energy worship experience where kids can encounter the presence of God in a fun environment, and learn about Him through biblical teaching during each of the weekend children's services at the Hampton Campus.

  3. Recruit, train, and manage a team of coordinators, leaders and volunteers to effectively challenge kids to develop spiritual habits and grow in their relationship with God through small groups and biblical teaching.

  4. Lead Kidz Kaboom Summer Camp to reach un-churched families in the area and connect them to the ministries of Allison Park Church.

  5. Recruit, train, and manage a team of coordinators, leaders and volunteers to oversee the assimilation process to effectively welcome guests and regular attenders in each of the Crosstown services and develop/maintain a system of care for all of the children at Allison Park Church.

  6. Recruit, train, and manage a team of coordinators, leaders and volunteers to lead all elementary special events, retreats, and outreaches.

  7. Recruit, train and lead a team of volunteers, coaches, commissioners, and leaders to reach the community through the Upward Sports Program (basketball league and cheerleading program).

  8. Establish a regular curriculum and programming plan for all campuses of Allison Park Church and develop a process to equip each campus children’s leaders and to  distribute the necessary resources.
