Job Description:



As an Administrative Assistant: Responsible for general administrative tasks of the church office, supports supervisor and all other staff members in their administrative duties.


As a Communications Coordinator: Prepares key communication releases (documents, bulletins, brochures, website changes, social media) of the church and its ministries.



  • Working knowledge of PC based programs, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer) and a Desktop Publishing software (InDesign a plus)
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Apple Mac experience a plus
  • Calendar Management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Quick but also detail oriented
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication, preferably bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (we are not a huge church but we are a busy one)
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well in a team environment
  • Professional, courteous and tactful with parishioners, as there is a reception portion to this job
  • Must be a professing Christian 


Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Clerical Support for the office staff
  • Phone and desk reception
  • Maintain schedule of usage for all church facilities
  • Assist Supervisor in Financial, Annual Conference and IT activities
  • Assist with data entry and implementation of Church Systems, such as Church software and Facility Management software
  • Order office supplies, keep supply cabinet stocked
  • Proof and edit written communications
  • Produces and designs weekly worship bulletins for all services
  • Provides up to date information for the church web page and social media
  • Low-level Webmaster functions, including Website design and maintenance
  • Develops, edits and produces flyers, newsletters, inserts and other promotional materials for multiple programs of the church ministries
  • Assists program staff in getting correct information out to membership, visitors and committees
  • Create and maintain church forms, templates, graphics, etc. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Develop artwork and coordinate with outsource contractors for additional graphic design and printing as needed 


  • Associates degree or Bachelors degree recommended, but not required
  • At least 3 years of administrative assistant experience, preferably for a church office
