The Minister to Students will oversee, lead, and continue to develop the Middle and High School Ministries. The successful candidate will have current experience in a thriving student ministry with strong leadership, organizational, and relational skills. This person will have a passion for ministering to students that run the spectrum from strong believers to those far from God, as well as their families

Additionally, the city's mild, semi-tropical climate makes outdoor activities enjoyable year round. Thanks to the Gulf of Mexico air, summers are consistently warm and the winters are mild, with approximately 219 days of sunshine every year!

  • Partner with Minister of Education/Administration in developing and overseeing the church’s ministry to students
  • Assess the educational and spiritual needs of middle and high school students and their families, design programs to meet those needs, and continually evaluate the effectiveness of those programs
  • Oversee the students' Sunday School program, including providing suitable educational curricula
  • Offer guidance as students express an interest in receiving Christ and being baptized; serve as an advocate, encourager, and spiritual mentor for Students; and will partner with parents to assist them in discipling their children
  • Recruit, train, oversee, and shepherd adult and student leaders within the ministry
  • Be a presence within the community, the students’ schools, and their extracurricular activities
  • Plan, publicize, and oversee the implementation of special events for students and their families
  • Develop, oversee, and administrate the annual budget for the student ministry
  • Visit all hospitalized students, or, when appropriate, delegate the task to a qualified representative  
  • Report to the Minister of Education/Administration


  • Four-year Degree from an accredited University or College
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a growing Student Ministry
  • Exhibit a life of spiritual maturity
  • Must love and desire to pastor teenagers and their parents who will have varied backgrounds, personalities, and spiritual journeys
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and empower adult and student leaders
  • A self-starter who enjoys carrying the mission/vision of the church and can work independently and with a team
  • Relational—loves being among students—and knowledgeable of current issues, likes/dislikes/, schools, etc.
  • Ability to teach/preach a biblical, engaging, meaningful message
  • Great communication skills—both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills—ability to multitask
  • Current knowledge of and ability to use social media to inform and involve students and their families
