Job Description:

  

CHURCH OF THE OPEN DOOR (COD) is a non-denominational, grace-oriented community of believers in Jesus Christ, firmly committed to the truths of God’s Word.  COD is looking for a Children’s Ministries Pastor/Director to oversee all the children’s programs, activities and volunteers


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Lead, train and build into a team that develops and implements children’s programs and activities such as Nursery, Sunday School, Children’s Church, AWANA, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Camp and Open Door Soccer League.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

  • College degree (preferred) with at least 30 units of Bible and some coursework related to children’s ministry (i.e. Christian Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, etc.).

 

Experience:

  • At least three years of experience in church-related children’s work.

 Skills:

  • Passionately able to communicate God’s Word and proclaim the grace of Jesus Christ to children.
  • Able to develop, equip and build a children’s ministry team
  • Able to build trust and discipling relationships with children and parents
  • Good oral and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with administrative abilities

  GENERAL:

  • To believe in and adhere to the Church of the Open Door Constitution and Bylaws, Articles of Faith and Statement of Faith and Practices
  • Demonstrates presently improving character and spiritual growth
  • Desires to experience life, discipleship, and ministry in community and team.
  • Desires to make disciples to Jesus Christ.
 

SALARY RANGE:   

 

$40,000 - $52,000
