Our church is seeking a person to fill the position of Pastor/Director of Assimilation. Candidates must have experience in ministry leadership, ability to lead a growing team in the areas of outreach, hospitality and assimilation, a heart for leading and nurturing leaders, and a commitment to fostering care for the community surrounding Cross Mountain Church.

Job Specific:

  • Must live in a 10-mile radius of Cross Mountain Church or be willing to relocate.

  • Must possess the ability to manage a large and growing ministry & volunteer system.

  • Must possess a passion and drive for evangelism and reaching the unchurched.

  • Must possess a passion for helping people take spiritual next steps.

  • Must possess an ability and desire to teach, lead classes and lead meetings (volunteers/staff).

Must be a team builder who can build and organize team assignments.

Ministry Description – RR & E


This Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations Agreement (RR&E) exists to define the position of Pastor/Director of Assimilation by explaining the roles and responsibilities. The Pastor/Director of Assimilation serves to lead the ministries of Cross Mountain Church that reach unchurched people and/or new individuals to CMC. Once reached, the Pastor/Director of Assimilation works to lead those reached through the assimilation process to be fully engaged and integrated into the life and culture of Cross Mountain Church while encouraging these individuals to begin their faith journey. This lists contains as much information as possible but will evolve as Cross Mountain grows.


Term: Permanent Full-Time 


Time: Estimated at 48-50 hours weekly


Income & Benefits: Commensurate with Experience


Reporting to: Lead Pastor




Team Leader - Assimilation

  • Ensure all assimilation teams are in line with God's Word and the vision of CMC as designated by the Lead Pastor through regular communication with the assimilation teams.
  • Regularly meet with the church staff to communicate upcoming events, expectations, and work through issues related to the assimilation process.
  • Review assimilation team member’s strategies and plans throughout the week. Provide correction where necessary.
  • In conjunction with the Pastor of Operations, oversee assimilation budgets and approve expenses for appropriateness.
  • Conduct the Cross Mountain Church Assimilation new hire and volunteer process for all team positions.
  • Pray for the assimilation team and follow up on prayer needs of assimilation team members.
  • Facilitate annual reviews for each assimilation staff member.
  • Handle HR taskings for the assimilation team in conjunction with the Pastor of Operations and Cross Mountain Church’s HR policies and procedures. 
  • Oversee the reporting of time off for assimilation team members.
  • Assure church facilities remain an attractive front door and are kept in good condition by working with assimilation team members and the Pastor of Operations.
  • Pray for and support the Lead Pastor. Recommend solu>ons to ministry problems when requested.


  • Identify and oversee outreach events that will reach the unchurched in our community with the goal of leading them to engage in the body of Cross Mountain Church.
  • Specific events include: 
  1. CMC Freedom Fest
  2. CMC Fall Festival
  3. Christmas at Cross Mountain
  • Continually evaluate these events and their effectiveness and look for new opportunities to be involved, engaging and reach our community.
  • Be a resource for CMC Staff to identify outreach opportunties for their ministries that will include, engage and reach people in the age group and ministry that they oversee.


  • Oversee CMC’s Event Coordinator assuring that all-church events are planned and prepared properly. CMC’s Event Coordinator’s responsibilities are primarily to identify events, assign responsibilities and follow-up to assure all things are covered.
  • All-church events include (but are not limited to): 
  1. Easter Weekend
  2. Mother’s Day
  3. Father’s Day
  4. CMC Freedom Fest
  5. CMC Fall Festival
  6. Christmas at Cross Mountain
  • Oversee all Hospitality at Cross Mountain Church. Including: 
  1. Parking
  2. Greeters
  3. Ushers
  4. Information Booth 
  5. Coffee Bar 
  6. Bookstore
  • Hospitality responsibilities include recruiting, developing and training for all hospitality du>es accomplished through the placement and development of Team Leaders and/or Coordinators.
  • Help other CMC’s Ministries develop a Hospitality Team for their Ministry area including at minimum Greeters.


  • Develop and oversee the follow-up process on 1st and 2nd time guest, as well as, the process of inviting and gettng people to GrowthTrack.
  • Assure a follow-up plan has been developed and is actively in place in the different ministry departments of Cross Mountain.
Growth Track
  • Oversee all aspects of GrowthTrack, including: 
  1. Inviting individuals who have not attended 
  2. Registration
  3. Material Preparation
  4. Meal ordering
  • Recruit a team to develop to run the various tasks of the GrowthTrack event.

Other Duties

  • Pray for the members of Cross Mountain Church and follow up on prayer needs of members on an as needed basis.
  • Care for the people of Cross Mountain Church and its facilites as a part of the body and not just as an employee of an organizaton.
