Job Description:

Purpose: To come alongside parents in discipling their families by leading the children and student ministries of Crosspoint Community Church, to the glory of God.


Spiritual Qualifications:

1. Meets the biblical qualifications of a Pastor/Elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)

2. Exhibits and has a personal and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ

3. Agrees with Crosspoint’s Statement of Faith



1. To disciple young people and parents and equip parents to disciple their families in the home.

2. To assist and work closely with the lead pastor in ministering to the members of Crosspoint.

3. To serve God in a full-time pastoral capacity at Crosspoint



1. Experienced in children’s and student ministries

2. Organized and skilled at administration and implementation of vision

3. Passionate about helping families glorify God and providing parents with biblical resources

4. Engaging teacher with a strong Biblical and Theological background

5. Experienced in public speaking, including sermon delivery

6. Self-motivated leader, capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry

7. Works well within a team concept of ministry; flexible and cooperation-oriented

8. Master’s Degree preferred; minimum BA degree in a related field required (e.g. Bible, Youth Ministries, Family Ministries, etc.) or Bible Institute Diploma

9. Willingness to continue training and education, as needed


1. To partner with the lead pastor in providing pastoral oversight and vision for the church, including occasional preaching, vision-casting, and teamwork in ministry
2. To regularly communicate with the staff and elders regarding the direction of family ministries
3. To recruit, train, and resource the volunteer teams that lead the children and student ministries
4. To work with the Ministry Team Leaders over nursery/preschool and elementary to develop and implement ministry vision and practical goals, including curriculum oversight
5. To participate in weekly staff meeting
6. To be involved in organizing outreach targeting families within our community
7. To maintain regular office hours for counseling and church support
8. To be involved in the community, according to individual gifts and abilities
9. To be responsible for family ministries budget development, implementation, and accountability
10. To provide counseling and spiritual direction to children, students, and parents
