Big Valley Grace Community Church is a vibrant non-denominational church located in Modesto, in the Central Valley of California.  More than 3500 people attend weekend gatherings, including children, students and adults. Throughout the week, several communities meet on the 58-acre campus: Women’s Bible studies, Men’s Bible studies, Celebrate Recovery, Student ministries, Children’s ministries, and Spanish ministry, among others.  The potential for this campus and ministry in the greater Modesto region continues to be great as we seek to “Love God, love people and make disciples.”


Big Valley Grace is seeking a high-energy, motivated individual to serve people in our church and community as Pastor/Director of the Connect/Serve team.  We are looking for a servant leader and team builder who provides direction and oversight in building teams through relationship and discipleship.


JOB TITLE:  Pastor/Director of Connect/Serve




To actively encourage and facilitate the connection of individuals from the greater community and each person attending Big Valley Grace in the Discipleship and Outreach mission of our church.  The Pastor/Director will build and engage teams to assist in this process. 


To recruit and engage individuals to use their gifts, skills and life experiences in serving within our church, our city and around the world. The Pastor/Director will build and engage teams to assist in this process.

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience serving in a church/para-church ministry
  • Demonstrated experience in leading people 
  • Proven track record of organizational skills in developing and carrying out objectives to completion
  • Able to work and thrive within a system to accomplish goals
  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university
  • 5 years of relevant and successful experience in Management/Business Administration role
  • Advanced degree in related field or Master’s Degree in ministry is preferred but not required
