The story and mission behind LeaveAMark Church is as amazing as its name. LeaveAMark is a community of faith that began in 2007 with just 12 people meeting in a living room, and now has over 500 people attending between 3 weekend services and two campus locations.

LeaveAMark is poised for tremendous growth. In Pastor Steve Combs’ own words, LeaveAMark Church is a place where ‘no perfect people are allowed.’ He credits the church’s growth to a mission that is fixated on providing the community of Columbus, Ohio, with an opportunity to experience the warm embrace of God’s unconditional love and the LeaveAMark church family.

The Worship Pastor for LeaveAMark Church will be an experienced worship leader whose heart for worship and compassion to invest in the lives of others is clearly evident in all that he does. The successful candidate will have the ability to read and perform music, along with leading the worship team in song at all adult worship services.

This individual will be responsible for multiple worship services, creative arts, and media production. This candidate needs to be able to lead vocally and instrumentally. They will lead the worship teams as well as the volunteer media team. This individual will further be responsible for all aspects of Saturday night and Sunday morning worship, working closely with the Senior Pastor, church staff, and worship team for unified implementation. This includes planning, producing, and leading the worship services with music and the creative arts elements.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the heart of a pastor with visionary leadership and team building skills to scale. The candidate will also be people-centric with an aptitude for administration. The leadership of LeaveAMark Church believes wholeheartedly that the Worship Pastor will be a leader whose calling and character will be one others seek to follow, and that this position’s success is dependent on his commitment to worship competency, and not simply musical entertainment.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working and leading worship in a ministry setting that is multi-cultural and multi-generational. The candidate will have had experience as an effective leader of mid-size to large worship bands and teams, and demonstrate the ability to handle the responsibility of providing vision and mobilizing both volunteers and leaders in a church of 700 attendees or greater. The successful Worship Pastor candidate must be able to play the guitar (being able to play multiple instruments is a plus), audition, and develop other musicians, and have experience working alongside production, technical and media ministry staff members for both adult and children’s worship environments.

While education is not a predetermining factor in the selection of a new Worship Pastor, the successful candidate must be one who has demonstrated 3-4 years of professional development and oversight in full-time worship ministry. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college, seminary or university may be preferred.
