The Senior Pastor is Christ's under-shepherd of Trinity Baptist Church. The pastor will look to God’s Word and the Holy Spirit to accomplish the will and character of Christ in his own life and those within the church body. He provides leadership in all
areas of church life, inspiring the people to become more Christ-like and to make disciples. He encourages lay people to use their spiritual gifts and other talents in God's service. He preaches, teaches, and exhorts using Scripture as the inspired, infallible
Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). He believes the Bible is God’s complete revelation of His plan (Ps.119:89; Prov. 30:5-6; Rev. 22:18-19), and will accomplish what He promises (Is.: 55:11). He is in total agreement with Trinity's Constitution and By-Laws. He is
answerable to the Deacon Board and ultimately to the Congregation.
The Senior Pastor meets the New Testament requirements for the Office of Overseer as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus l:6-9. He produces clear evidence that he is called by the Holy Spirit as a minister of the Gospel. He has verifiable experience as
an Ordained Pastor in a successful ministry. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited College or University, with seminary preferred.
I. Proclaim, Preach and Equip--Deliver sermons which consistently teach Biblical truth with clarity; knowing that rightly dividing the Word of Truth is applicable to everyday life, and useful for equipping the saints for the work of the service to building
up the body of Christ (Eph.4:11-13) .Teach the whole counsel of the Word of God with clarity in a way that protects believers from being “tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in
deceitful schemes (Eph.4:14). Desires the growth of the church and the glory of the Lord.
II. Shepherding -Promote unity, love, and care. Consistently demonstrates effective interpersonal skills: exercises humility, is respectful of others' opinions, and receives constructive criticism without being defensive.
III. Engage People -Outreach and Witness • Supports the church's commitment to missions: local, domestic, and international.
