Job Description:
The Worship Pastor is responsible for leading the Music Ministry consisting of approximately 50 volunteers in the areas of vocal and instrumental music.  The Worship Pastor works with a programming team in the preparation of services and is the primary team member responsible for music selection.  The Worship Pastor is also the primary worship leader for our Parkland campus.
Rainier View Christian Church is a community-oriented church where any of our Northwest neighbors can come as they are, and together experience God's love and discover His purpose for our lives. We are a multi-site church, currently meeting in two sites, with 1500 average attendance divided almost equally between the two sites. We are contemporary and relevant in our style of worship and Bible-based in our theology.  We use the creative arts, (including drama, visual, technical, and musical) on a regular basis in our weekend services and have a team approach to ministry.
  • Strong vocal ability
  • Strong guitar or keyboard player
  • Ability to read and write chord charts
  • Ability to lead worship rehearsal (both vocal and instrumental)
  • Proven experience in a contemporary worship setting
  • Ability to model authentic worship and engage a congregation in worship
  • Strong passion for the arts, specifically music and worship
  • Participate in weekend service planning
  • Recruit, Train, Encourage and care for music volunteers

Additional Skills Desired:
  • Ability to write and compose original worship music
  • Ability to read sheet music
  • Ability to arrange and orchestrate for band instruments
  • Basic knowledge of sound reinforcement
  • Ability to underscore during services
  • Ability to write vocal charts
  • Able to partner with Youth and Kids ministries to develop music and worship

Other Responsiblities:
  • Participation in staff meetings and other normal staff team responsibilities
  • Assist in musical support for special events, weddings and memorial services

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred with some formal music training
