Established in 1966, Covenant Church of Naples is a biblically based, Reformed church that appeals to people from a wide variety of denominational and generational origins.

Over the past six to eight years, Covenant has seen explosive growth in attendance and giving. Today, Covenant Church of Naples averages 1,000 attendees throughout the year with a noticeable seasonal dynamic. The church has more than doubled its membership since 2011, with significant growth in the areas of young families and youth. In terms of giving, Covenant continues to be a premier mission giving church in the PCA, with a generous congregation that has given more than $11 million towards outreach initiatives over the past seven years. But much of this growth has occurred without an effective discipleship strategy. In line with this area of improvement, Covenant Church intends to implement the “Pathway to Maturity” program during the next five years, which will engage each member in four key areas of development weekly: Worship, Grow, Serve, Go.

Covenant Church of Naples seeks a Grow Pastor who will not simply continue to maintain what the church has done thus far, but take it to the next level by re-imagining discipleship at Covenant and effectively formulating strategies that produce disciple-makers. This will be a golden opportunity for an experienced individual whose passion and gifting aligns with dreaming, building, and implementing discipleship processes that produce fully devoted followers of Christ who reproduce other disciples.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Grow Pastor will create and execute a discipleship plan that serves to develop and deploy disciples of all ages at Covenant Church of Naples to make disciples in their family, community, and world. Success in this position will be measured by (1) Spiritually mature Covenant members effectively making disciples in their spheres of influence (2) The implementation of a clear discipleship pathway to bring people from unbelief to spiritual maturity and appropriate leadership. The incoming Grow Pastor will be passionate about seeing a multiplying discipleship movement that dramatically impacts families and the local community, ultimately impacting the world through the power of the Holy Spirit working through changed lives.

In addition, the Grow Pastor will be a wise counselor for the Senior Pastor. He should have a large store of biblical wisdom and church ministry experience from which to draw when offering advice in discussions with the Senior Pastor. He will be a strong pastoral right hand for the Senior Pastor, with the ability to share pastoral counseling in significant cases, while exercising pastoral leadership when the Senior Pastor is unavailable.

The Grow Pastor will possess a Master of Divinity degree, with a track record of reproducing disciples and organizing church ministry that accomplishes the same. This individual will additionally be ordained or ordainable in the PCA with at least five years of relevant experience in evangelism and discipleship in large established churches. He will have a strong gift in administration with the ability to organize and execute a discipleship strategy in a church of Covenant’s size. He will also be an excellent preacher and teacher, with a strong capability of relating to intergenerational audiences.
