Grace Chapel by the Lakeshore is a young, evangelical, interdenominational church located in Western Michigan. 


Its congregation of 200 consists of believers who embrace the church’s strategy to love God, love people, and serve the world. Led by a high level of volunteerism, Grace Chapel is marked by excellence in every area, from guest services to ministry programming. There is a palpable spirit of unity among the membership of the church, who have committed to firm support of the church leadership.


Grace Chapel by The Lakeshore seeks a Senior Pastor who professes Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. He will love the Word of God and faithfully and skillfully apply the Word in teaching, discipling, and personal living. The Senior Pastor will love, protect, and seek the spiritual growth of their congregation in a personal way, while embracing growth and outreach in an organizational capacity. He will be a ‘builder’ who is Kingdom-minded, and possess strong people skills with the unique ability to connect and interact with younger generations. The ideal candidate for this position will preferably possess a seminary degree to successfully execute the expectations of this position.


The successful candidate will have a strong background in effective preaching, organizational ministry development, team building, discipleship, and spiritual formation strategies with proven success in implementing these strategies. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following skills to scale:


  • Proven history of experience in ministry, particularly in an executive leadership position.
  • Ability to preach biblically sound sermons that correlate with practical insights.
  • Comprehend the necessity of, with capability to lead in steps.
  • A strong aptitude to relate in intergenerational and interdenominational capacities.


Zeeland is a city in Ottawa County in the state of Michigan. The city of Zeeland, named after the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands, was settled in 1847 and occupies a population of 5,504, according to the 2010 census. The town has sustained over the years and developed as a prosperous, well-kept community, retaining a lot of historic interest with a downtown on the National Register of Historic Interest and with many fine period homes. Zeeland’s economy is propelled by tourism, agriculture, small businesses, and an assortment of larger manufacturers making everything from pickles to plastics to pharmaceuticals. Its location provides wide recreational opportunities with easy access to nearby lakes, streams, cross country and downhill skiing, biking, and hiking. In addition to local cultural events, Zeeland is close to larger cities, Grand Rapids being only minutes away, which provide excellent sports as well as intellectual and arts opportunities. The public schools are highly ranked and there are excellent private school options as well. A charming and convenient downtown area forms the heart of the Zeeland community.
