Fellowship Baptist Church is praying for spiritual leadership for the Student Ministries team. We are looking for a dynamic couple that has a calling to lead students to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and to aggressively reach the youth in our community. The ideal candidate will possess a great work ethic, have a clear calling of God for the ministry, and have the competence to lead.


This position is not meant for someone looking for a simple ministry job. We want someone that desires to be part of a church where God is at work. Fellowship Baptist Church is passionately working to make disciples and God is changing lives in this place. We work hard and often long hours in order to make it happen. We are a team with no big shots. Much will be required as a staff member at Fellowship Baptist Church and we are looking for someone willing to pour their lives out for our students and their families.

The Associate Pastor position at Fellowship Baptist Church requires that you function in many general pastoral roles with a main emphasis on the students.
General pastoral responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Hospital Visits
  • Counseling families and teens
  • Participation and leadership of church-wide special events
  • Teaching and preaching for Sunday PM Celebration Service and/or Morning Worship (when needed)

Student Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead the Student Ministry team and provide staff leadership for all youth ministries for students grades 7-12
  • Planning and execution of a full discipleship program for students
  • Teach and lead the weekly Sunday School service for students
  • Oversee the bus ministry teen service which takes place during the 11am Worship Service
  • Lead the weekly student meeting on Wednesdays
    • Bible-centered preaching toward practical life change
    • Small group discipleship and accountability
  • Establish a yearly student ministry calendar that includes outreach/evangelistic events, fun events, and spiritual growth events.
  • Development and training of a team of volunteer leaders.
  • Spend time with students and be involved in their lives providing spiritual direction and leadership inside and outside of church
  • Have a presence / influence in the local school and community
  • Organize and lead the student mission trips


  • An undergraduate degree in Bible or seminary degree is required.
  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to serve Him
  • Has a marriage/family life that sets a great example of a Christian home
  • Has a spiritual gift mix including administration and teaching
  • Gospel-centered Bible teaching and preaching ability that particularly engages and connects with students 
  • Proven ability to successfully recruit volunteer leadership to partner with paid staff in the ministry
  • A demonstrated team player; understands the importance of communication throughout the organization as a valuable tool in creating unity
  • Excellent relational skills 
  • Ability to communicate with and provide parents resources to assist them in discipling, nurturing, and connecting with their students
  • Willingness to receive coaching, outside training, and on-the-job training
  • Self-directed with strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
