Anderson Christian desires to be the church God created us to be by fulfiling the mission of getting people to Jesus. Through a season of quality growth we have come to the place of needing to add to our full-time staff. We emphasize discipleship over crowds and programming believing it is in the context of genuine relationships that discipleship develops and grows. Below is a description of the position we are currently looking to fill.

 

Summary:The goal of the Associate Minister of Worship and Youth is to pursue the creation of disciples of Jesus Christ. To do this ideally the minister will utilize his entire life in the process and especially the areas indicated as falling under his supervision and responsibility with Anderson Christian Church.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Sunday Morning Worship:Work with the Lead Minister and plan Sunday morning

    worship services under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Incorporate Scripture, new songs, old songs, drama, videos, etc., above all yield to the leading of the Spirit. This responsibility includes recruiting, scheduling, communicating, practicing, and equipping those involved in the worship band. The Associate Minister is responsible for the physical appearance of the worship area and the stage in particular. Bottom line: The Associate Minister is to make sure we are putting forth the best effort possible in programming, purpose, and intention.

  • Service Coordination:Work with the serving schedule for all areas involved in the worship service (sound room, communion meditation, communion prep, etc.) Be sure to communicate with those involved with serving and provide a copy of the planned service. Bottom line: The Associate Minister is to make sure the morning service goes as well as possible. This means being prepared and communicating that plan to those involved.

  • Sound/Tech:The Associate Minister is to oversee the sound and technical aspects of the sanctuary. This means preparing the Pro­Presenter presentation and using slides provided by the Lead Minister. It also includes working out any sound issues and having the system ready to run to the best of its capabilities and empowering the sound room team leader to do his job effectively. Work with the Lead Minister in creating stage designs to be used through the year. Bottom line: The Associate Minister is to do his best in utilizing technology as an aid to the service and not allow it to become a distraction or hindrance.

  • KidCity(Preschool­5thGrade,Sundaymornings,mid­week):Develop a plan to teach, strengthen and empower. This includes selecting of curriculum to be used. It also means recruiting, training, scheduling, and overseeing volunteers for this area. The Associate Minister is also responsible for the physical appearance and function of the Kid City area. Bottom line: The Associate Minister is to make sure we are putting forth the best effort possible in programming, purpose, and intention. This is more of a role in administrative oversight and not as hands on. It is more involved in providing structure, volunteers, training, etc.

  • Jr/SrHigh(6th­12thGrades,Sundaymornings,evenings,mid­week): Develop a plan to teach, strengthen and empower. This includes selecting curriculum, lessons to be used. It also means recruiting, training, scheduling, and overseeing volunteers for this area. The Associate Minister is also responsible for the physical appearance and function of the youth area. Bottom line: The Associate Minister is to make sure we are putting for the the best effort possible in programming, purpose, and intention.

  • Events: In an effort to increase fellowship, relationships, and discipleship it is the role of the Associate Minister to work out a schedule with intentional special events (internal, and outreach) for the youth. These events may include lock­ins, parties, game nights, 5th quarters, service projects, mission projects, conferences (TCTC, SITS, CIY), Youth Rallies, Camp, Pumpkin Patch, Zoo Trips, etc. The Associate Minister is responsible for the logistics in planning, budget, money collection and cost, travel and communication of the event. Bottom line: The Associate Minister is to strategically use events throughout the year to help the overall mission among all ages. These events are to be accomplished with a high level of excellence and work in harmony with the church calendar as a whole.

  • Camp (Camp Calvary): Be involved in camp when necessary. Typically ACC is responsible for one week of camp each summer. The Associate Minister is to be a vital part of this event assisting in the planning and execution of the event. Bottom line: Help ACC partner with Camp Calvary through involvement and presence at camp events and assisting them with their mission.

  • Visitation: The Associate Minister will be expected to make appropriate contact/follow up with those in their ministry responsibilities. This includes corresponding,calling, and visiting with visitors, volunteers, etc. It may also be necessary for the Associate Minister to help in hospital visits if and when needed. Bottom line: Work with other leadership in interacting with the current church body and any potential new members.
