In 1965, four families began dreaming and praying about building a community church on the southern edge of Tempe to minister to all of the new families moving to the rapidly growing community.


Since its inception, Grace Community Church has faithfully and consistently served its guests, members, and community as a beacon of hope in Christ. The church is varied in age, ethnicity, and background, with Sunday attendance ranging from 1,000-1,200 weekly. Foundationally, Grace Community Church teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ and believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The church is passionate about discipleship and seeks to sustain it as a main focus in all its ministry outlets as it applies to local outreach efforts in Tempe, regionally across the state of Arizona, and internationally in its global ministry endeavors.


The Worship Pastor of Grace Community Church will possess abilities of an ‘equipper,’ both in terms of offering staff leadership and leading weekend worship experiences. They will be an evangelist and a pastor at heart, with added attributes of a builder and an energizer who leads with enthusiasm and excitement. Furthermore, the Worship Pastor will be highly intuitive, with an innate ability to seize and sense spiritual formation during worship experiences by creating a heart of worship that leads people into a spiritual experience. This individual will closely collaborate with the Lead Pastor in formulating the weekend worship experience while maintaining a posture of approachability and authenticity, both on and off the stage. The next Worship Pastor of Grace Community Church will join and seamlessly ‘fit’ within a staff team of unparalleled humility, unity, passion, creativity, and excellence. 


The Worship Pastor will preferably have an undergraduate degree in a related field of study, with at least 5-years of dynamic, worship leadership experience and a strong history of creating multigenerational worship experiences for a church of 1,000 or more. They will additionally have the following skills to scale:


  • Comfortable and acclimated to leading worship from the guitar, with the preference of navigating between guitar and piano.
  • A strong sense of musicality with the ability to provide clear direction to musicians.
  • Possess an understanding of musical arrangements and charting.
  • Ability and/or inclination to write music is a plus.
  • Proven capability to work within a fast-pace, highly productive environment.
  • A track record of working and leading worship in a ministry setting that is multi-cultural and multi-generational.
